ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ඩිජිටල් බැංකුකරණයේ සහ කාඩ්පත් රහිත පහසු ගෙවීම් ක්රමවේදයන්හි නව පෙරළියක් සනිටුහන් කරමින්, ලංකා බැංකුව (BOC) සිය නවතම ‘BOC Flex Tap & Pay’ සේවාව කොළඹ සිනමන් ලයිෆ් පරිශ්රයේදී, ගරු කම්කරු අමාත්ය සහ මුදල් හා සැලසුම් නියෝජ්ය අමාත්ය ආචාර්ය අනිල් ජයන්ත ප්රනාන්දු මහතාගේ සහ ගරු ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථික නියෝජ්ය අමාත්ය (ඉංජිනේරු) එරංග වීරරත්න මහතාගේ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් නිල වශයෙන් දියත් කරන ලදී.
මුදල් නෝට්ටු භාවිතය වෙනුවට ආරක්ෂිත ඩිජිටල් ගෙවීම් රටාවක් රට තුළ ප්රචලිත කිරීමේ ජාතික අරමුණ පෙරදැරි කරගෙන, මාස්ටර්කාඩ් (Mastercard) ආයතනය සමඟ එක්ව ලංකා බැංකුව මෙම නවතම තාක්ෂණය මෙරටට හඳුන්වා දී ඇත.
මෙම නව ‘Tap & Pay’ පහසුකම නිසා කාඩ්පත් භාවිතයෙන් තොරව, තමන්ගේ ජංගම දුරකථනය වෙළඳසැල්වල ඇති POS මැෂිමක ස්පර්ශ කිරීමෙන් (Tap කිරීමෙන්) පමණක් ඉතා වේගයෙන් සහ ආරක්ෂිතව එදිනෙදා බිල්පත් ගෙවීමට පාරිභෝගිකයාට අවස්ථාව ලැබේ.
ජංගම දුරකථනයෙන්ම මිනිත්තු කිහිපයකින් සකස් කරගත හැකි අතථ්ය කාඩ්පත් (Virtual Cards) කළමනාකරණය සහ ඕනෑම වෙලාවක කාඩ්පතේ ක්රියාකාරීත්වය තාවකාලිකව නැවැත්වීමේ (Suspend) විශේෂ ආරක්ෂිත ක්රමවේදයන් ද මේ සඳහා ඇතුළත් කර ඇත.
මෙම අවස්ථාවට සහභාගී වෙමින් ගරු, ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථික නියෝජ්ය අමාත්ය (ඉංජිනේරු) එරංග වීරරත්න මහතා ප්රකාශ කළේ, රාජ්ය බැංකු පද්ධතිය තුළ මෙවැනි නවෝත්පාදනයන් සිදු කිරීම සමස්ත ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථිකයේම ප්රගතියට ඉවහල් වන බවයි. ජාතික ඩිජිටල් අනන්යතාවය (SLUDI) සහ ගෙවීම් පද්ධතිවල අන්තර්-ක්රියාකාරිත්වය (Interoperability) ශක්තිමත් කරමින්, මෙම ‘BOC Flex Tap & Pay’ තාක්ෂණය ග්රාමීය ව්යවසායකයා සහ කුඩා ව්යවසායන් දක්වාම සාර්ථකව ව්යාප්ත කිරීමට ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථික අමාත්යාංශය උපරිම සහයෝගය ලබා දෙන බව ද අමාත්යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් අවධාරණය කළේය.
මෙහි සුවිශේෂී සහ සංකේතාත්මක අවස්ථාව සනිටුහන් කරමින් ශ්රී ලංකා ක්රිකට් කණ්ඩායමේ හිටපු නායක මහේල ජයවර්ධන මහතා විසින් ‘BOC Flex Tap & Pay’ තාක්ෂණය භාවිතයෙන් දිවයිනේ ප්රථම ජංගම දුරකථන ස්පර්ශක ගෙවීම් ගනුදෙනුව (First Tap) සාර්ථකව සිදු කළ අතර ශ්රී ලාංකිකයන්ගේ දෛනික මූල්ය ජීවිතය වඩාත් සරල සහ වේගවත් කරවන නව යුගයක ආරම්භය එමඟින් නිල වශයෙන් සනිටුහන් විය.

BOC Introduces 'Flex Tap & Pay' Service Revolutionizing Digital Payments in Sri Lanka
In a significant advancement for digital banking and cashless payment systems in Sri Lanka, the Bank of Ceylon (BOC) has officially launched its latest service, 'BOC Flex Tap & Pay', at a ceremony held in the Colombo Cineman Life premises. The event was graced by the Minister of Labour and State Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. Anil Jayatunga, along with the State Minister of Digital Economy (Engineering), Eran Weeraratne.
Aligned with the national goal of promoting secure digital payment patterns over cash transactions, BOC has introduced this innovative technology in collaboration with Mastercard. The initiative aims to enhance convenience across the nation.
The new 'Tap & Pay' feature allows customers to make swift and secure payments without the need for physical cards. Users simply tap their mobile phones on Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals at retail outlets to settle everyday bills effortlessly.
Additionally, this service includes the management of virtual cards, which can be easily set up in minutes from a mobile phone, along with robust security features that allow users to suspend their card's functionality at any time.
During the launch, State Minister Eran Weeraratne emphasized that the implementation of such innovations within the state banking system would significantly contribute to the overall progress of the digital economy. He highlighted the strengthening of national digital identity (SLUDI) and interoperability within payment systems, assuring that the digital economy ministry would provide maximum support for the successful outreach of 'BOC Flex Tap & Pay' to rural entrepreneurs and small businesses.
In a symbolic gesture marking the occasion, former Sri Lankan cricket captain Mahela Jayawardene made the country's first mobile contactless payment transaction using the 'BOC Flex Tap & Pay' technology, officially ushering in a new era that promises to simplify and expedite the financial lives of Sri Lankans.
The ceremony also saw the participation of BOC Chairman Kavintha de Soysa, General Manager/CEO W.A. Jayatilleke, along with other board directors, senior management, and key stakeholders from the bank, including Mastercard's regional manager for Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, Sandun Hapugoda, as well as Mastercard Country Manager for Sri Lanka, Mahesha Amarasinghe. The event attracted a significant number of invitees, including representatives from professional organizations and esteemed BOC clients and partners.
