අධිභාරය නිසා වාහන මිල තවත් ලක්‍ෂ 50 තෙක් ඉහල යයි..

රජය විසින් පනවා ඇති රේගු අධිභාරය ලබන දෙසැම්බර් මස 31 වනදා දක්වා දීර්ඝ කිරීමට පියවර ගැනීමත් සමඟ ඉදිරියේදී මෙරටට ආනයනය කරනු ලබන වාහනවල මිල රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 50ක් දක්වා වූ ඉහළ අගයකින් වැඩි වීමේ අවදානමක් පවතින බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා වාහන ආනයනකරුවන්ගේ සංගමය පවසයි. 

එම සංගමයේ සභාපති ප්‍රසාද් මානගේ මහතා මාධ්‍ය හමුවක් අමතමින් මේ බව අනාවරණය කළේය.

විශේෂ ගැසට් නිවේදනයක් මගින් මෙම අධිභාරය දීර්ඝ කර ඇති අතර, එහි සෘජු බලපෑම මැයි මස 15 වන දිනෙන් පසුව ණයවර ලිපි විවෘත කරන ලද වාහන සඳහා එල්ල වන බව ඔහු පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

දැනට ප්‍රදර්ශනාගාරවල පවතින වාහන මැයි 15 දිනට පෙර ණයවර ලිපි විවෘත කළ ඒවා බැවින්, පාරිභෝගිකයන්ට දැනට පවතින මිල ගණන් යටතේ එම වාහන මිලදී ගැනීමට මෙය කදිම අවස්ථාවක් බව ද සභාපතිවරයා සඳහන් කළේය.

"ඉදිරියේදී එන වාහනවල මිල ගණන් සැලකිය යුතු ලෙස ඉහළ යනවා. වැගන් ආර් (Wagon R) රථයක් ලක්ෂ 5කින් ද, ටොයෝටා රේස් (Toyota Raize) රථයක් ලක්ෂ 10කින් ද, වෙසල් (Vezel) රථයක් ලක්ෂ 15ත් 20ත් අතර ප්‍රමාණයකින් ද මිල ඉහළ යනු ඇතැයි අපේක්ෂා කරනවා. එමෙන්ම ප්‍රාඩෝ (Prado) රථයක් ලක්ෂ 30කින් ද, ලෑන්ඩ් කෲසර් (Land Cruiser) රථයක් ලක්ෂ 50කින් ද සහ ඩබල් කැබ් රථයක් ලක්ෂ 20ත් 25ත් අතර ප්‍රමාණයකින් ද මිල ඉහළ යා හැකියි."

නිතර නිතර මෙලෙස අධිභාරයන් වෙනස් කිරීමෙන් වෙළඳපොළ අස්ථාවර වන බව පෙන්වා දුන් ප්‍රසාද් මානගේ මහතා, ඩොලර් සංචිත ආරක්ෂා කර ගැනීමට රජයට අවශ්‍ය නම් ඒ සඳහා බදු ප්‍රතිපත්ති සංශෝධනය හෝ ණයවර ලිපි පාලනය වැනි විකල්ප ක්‍රමවේද භාවිතා කළ හැකි බව ද යෝජනා කළේය.

Concerns Rise Over Increasing Vehicle Prices Due to Extended Customs Duty

The Sri Lanka Automobile Importers Association has raised alarms about a potential surge in vehicle prices, projecting an increase by up to Rs. 5 million, following the government's decision to extend the customs duty until December 31. This development has significant implications for future vehicle imports into the country.

Speaking at a press conference, Association President Prasad Manage highlighted the pressure that extending the customs duty will exert on vehicle prices. He noted that a special gazette notification has formalized this extension, with the immediate impact expected on vehicles for which loan documents are opened after May 15.

Vehicles currently in showrooms, having completed loan documentation before the May deadline, present a unique buying opportunity for consumers. Manange emphasized, "This is an ideal moment for customers to purchase these vehicles at existing prices."

He detailed expectations of considerable price hikes for upcoming vehicle models. Notably, the Wagon R is projected to rise by Rs. 500,000, the Toyota Raize by Rs. 1 million, and the Vezel could see a price increase ranging between Rs. 1.5 million and Rs. 2 million. Additionally, the Prado is anticipated to go up by Rs. 3 million, the Land Cruiser by Rs. 5 million, and double cab vehicles may rise by Rs. 2 million to Rs. 2.5 million.

Manange cautioned that frequent adjustments to levies risk destabilizing the market. He suggested that if the government aims to safeguard its dollar reserves, it could consider alternative approaches such as revising tax policies or implementing controls on loan documentation.
