පොලිසියට අලුත් නිල ඇදුමක් එක්ක අලුත් වැටුපක්..

 ලබන ජනවාරි මාසය වන විට ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොලිසිය සඳහා නව නිල ඇඳුමක් හඳුන්වා දීමට කටයුතු කරන බවත්, නිල ඇඳුමේ වෙනසට පමණක් සීමා නොවී පොලිස් සේවයේ ගුණාත්මක වර්ධනයක් ඇති කිරීම රජයේ අරමුණ බවත් මහජන ආරක්ෂක හා පාර්ලිමේන්තු කටයුතු පිළිබඳ අමාත්‍ය ආනන්ද විජේපාල මහතා පවසයි.

රූපවාහිනී නාලිකාවක පැවැත්වූ වැඩසටහනකට එක්වෙමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා අවධාරණය කළේ, පොලිස් සේවය මේ වන විට දේශපාලනීකරණයෙන් මුළුමනින්ම නිදහස් කර ඇති බවයි.

කිසිදු බාහිර බලපෑමකින් තොරව ස්වාධීනව විමර්ශන සිදු කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය වටපිටාව සහ පහසුකම් නිලධාරීන්ට සලසා දී ඇති බවත්, පාතාල ක්‍රියාකාරීන්ගේ තර්ජන හමුවේ පොලිසිය කිසිසේත් පසුබට නොවන බවත් ඔහු සඳහන් කළේය.

පොලිස් සේවයේ පවතින නිලධාරී හිඟය මඟහරවා ගැනීම සඳහා මේ වසර තුළ නවක නිලධාරීන් 10,000ක් බඳවා ගැනීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇති අතර, ඉන් 6,000ක් පමණ මේ වන විටත් සේවයට අන්තර්ග්‍රහණය කර අවසන් බව අමාත්‍යවරයා මෙහිදී අනාවරණය කළේය.

පොලිස් නිලධාරීන්ගේ වැටුප් ගැටලුව සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දැක්වූ අමාත්‍යවරයා, පොලිස් සේවයටම ආවේණික වූ සුවිශේෂී වැටුප් ව්‍යුහයක් සකස් කිරීම සඳහා අමාත්‍ය මණ්ඩල තීන්දුවක් ගෙන ඇති බවත්, ඒ සඳහා වන අනුකමිටුවක් මේ වන විටත් ක්‍රියාත්මක බවත් පැවසීය.

මීට අමතරව, නිලධාරීන් සඳහා අවදානම් දීමනාවක් ලබා දීමට අදාළ කරුණු ජනාධිපතිවරයා වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇති බව ද හෙතෙම සඳහන් කළේය.

පොලිසියේ බාහිර ප්‍රතිරූපය වෙනස් කිරීමට සමගාමීව, මහජනතාව සමඟ සමීපව කටයුතු කරන, වඩාත් මිත්‍රශීලී සහ ගුණාත්මක පොලිස් සේවාවක් රට තුළ ස්ථාපිත කිරීම සඳහා අවශ්‍ය සියලු පියවර ගන්නා බව ද අමාත්‍ය ආනන්ද විජේපාල මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

New Uniform for Sri Lanka Police to be Introduced in January

The Sri Lanka Police is set to unveil a new official uniform in January, with government plans emphasizing not only the change in attire but also an overall enhancement in the quality of police services, according to Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Minister Ananda Wijepala.

Speaking during a television program, the minister underscored that the police service is now completely free from political influence.

He assured that a conducive environment has been established for officers to conduct investigations independently, without any external pressures, adding that the police would not falter in the face of threats from organized crime.

To address the current shortage of officers within the police service, steps have been initiated to recruit 10,000 new personnel this year, with around 6,000 already integrated into the workforce, as revealed by the minister.

On the topic of police salaries, the minister highlighted that a special salary structure unique to the police service has been approved by the Cabinet, with a committee already in operation to facilitate its implementation.

Additionally, he mentioned that proposals for providing risk allowances to officers have been submitted to the President for consideration.

Minister Ananda Wijepala further expressed commitment to transforming the police’s external image while ensuring a friendly and effective police service that actively engages with the community across the country.
