පසුගිය යුද සමයේ ආරක්ෂක අංශ වෙත පවරාගත් මේ වන විට නිදහස් කළ හැකි බවට හඳුනාගෙන ඇති උතුරු සහ නැගෙනහිර පළාත්වල ඉඩම් කඩිනමින් නිදහස් කර අදාළ පාර්ශ්වයන් වෙත ලබා දෙන ලෙස ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා ආරක්ෂක අංශ වෙත උපදෙස් දුන්නේය.
ජනාධිපතිවරයා මෙම උපදෙස් ලබා දුන්නේ උතුරු සහ නැගෙනහිර පළාත් තුළ යුද සමයේ හමුදා කඳවුරු ස්ථාපනය කිරීම සඳහා පවරාගත් පෞද්ගලික ඉඩම් සහ ජනතාව විසින් පරිහරණය කරන ලද රජය සතු ඉඩම් නැවතත් අදාළ පාර්ශවයන් වෙත නිදහස් කර ලබා දීම කඩිනම් කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් (20) පාර්ලිමේන්තු සංකීර්ණයේදී පැවති සාකච්ඡාවට එක් වෙමිනි
ජාතික ආරක්ෂාව ඉතා වැදගත් වන අතර ජාතික ආරක්ෂාව සඳහා හමුදා කඳවුරු ස්ථාපනය කළ යුත්තේ කුමන ස්ථානවලද යන්න තීරණය කිරීම ත්රිවිධ හමුදාව සහ පොලිසිය ඇතුළු ආරක්ෂාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් කටයුතු කරන පිරිසගේ කාර්යභාරය බව මෙහිදී පෙන්වා දුන් ජනාධිපතිවරයා ඒ මත පදනම්ව නිදහස් කළ හැකි ඉඩම් මොනවා ද යන්නත්, නිදහස් කළ නොහැකි ඉඩම් මොනවාද යන්නත් සම්බන්ධයෙන් අවසන් තීරණයකට එළැඹෙන ලෙසද උපදෙස් දුන්නේය.
අත්යවශ්ය ඉඩම් ප්රමාණය තීරණය කිරීමේදී හැකිතාක් ජනතාවගේ පැත්තෙන් සිතා බැහැර කළ හැකි උපරිම ඉඩම් ප්රමාණය බැහැර කරන ලෙස වැඩිදුරටත් උපදෙස් දුන් ජනාධිපතිවරයා එසේ ලබා දෙන ඉඩම් කොටස්වලට අමතරව එම ජනතාවගේ ජීවනෝපාය මාර්ග සලසා දීමට කටයුතු කිරිමේ අවශ්යතාවද පැහැදිලි කළේය.
ඒ සඳහා ඉහළ ඵලදායීතාවක් ලබා ගත හැකි නවීන කෘෂි තාක්ෂණය සහිත ව්යාපෘති හඳුන්වා දීමට කටයුතු කරන ලෙසද ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා මෙහිදී කෘෂිකර්ම, පශුසම්පත්, ඉඩම් හා වාරිමාර්ග අමාත්යාංශයේ ලේකම්වරයා වෙත උපදෙස් දුන්නේය.

President Directs Swift Release of Land in Northern and Eastern Provinces
In a decisive move aimed at restoring land to its rightful owners, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed the security forces to expedite the release of privately owned land that had been appropriated during the war in the Northern and Eastern provinces.
During a recent parliamentary discussion, the President emphasized the urgency of returning land previously occupied by military camps and government-owned properties utilized by the local populace. This initiative is part of broader efforts to rectify past injustices and facilitate community development in these regions.
Highlighting the crucial nature of national security, the President asserted that the military, in coordination with the police, should determine suitable locations for military camps while also identifying land that can be freed up for civilian use. He urged officials to arrive at a final decision regarding which lands can be returned and which cannot.
During the deliberations, the President instructed that any assessments of land allocations should consider the maximum size that can be relinquished without adversely affecting the community. He stressed the importance of also creating pathways for sustainable livelihoods for those impacted by these changes.
Furthermore, he called for the introduction of modern agricultural technologies and projects to boost productivity in the area. This directive was extended to the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Land, and Irrigation, aiming to enhance the economic framework of communities in the Northern and Eastern provinces.
Participants in this significant meeting included Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic Resources, and Marine Affairs Ramalingam Chandrasekar, Defense State Minister retired Major General Aruna Jayasekara, senior government representatives from the Northern and Eastern provinces, and other military officials. The gathering underscored a united effort to rehabilitate lands and improve conditions for the people in these historically conflict-affected areas.
