පුද්ගලයින් දෙදෙනෙකුට පහරදීම සහ මරණ තර්ජනය කිරීමේ චෝදනාවට වරදකරු වී මාස 18ක සිරදඬුවමක් විඳිමින් සිටි සමගි ජන බලවේගයේ පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී චමින්ද විජේසිරි මහතා ඇප මත මුදා හැරීමට අධිකරණය නියෝග කර තිබේ.

මන්ත්‍රීවරයා විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලද ඇපෑල පෙත්සමක් සලකා බැලීමෙන් අනතුරුව මෙම නියෝගය නිකුත් කර ඇත. 

අදාළ පහරදීමේ සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් වරදකරු වීම හේතුවෙන් ඔහුට මාස 18ක සිරදඬුවමක් නියම වී තිබිණි.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, ඇප මත නිදහස් කළ ද, අධිකරණයේ පූර්ව අවසරයකින් තොරව විදේශගත වීම ඔහුට තහනම් කරමින් කොන්දේසියක් ද පනවා තිබේ.

Court Grants Bail to MP Chaminda Wijesiri After 18 Months in Custody

The Kandy High Court has ordered the release on bail of Chaminda Wijesiri, a Member of Parliament from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, who has been in custody for 18 months on charges of assaulting two individuals and making death threats. This decision comes after the court reviewed a bail application submitted by the MP.

Wijesiri's detention stemmed from a conviction related to the incidents of assault, which warranted the lengthy prison sentence. However, the court has now allowed him to be released on bail.

Despite being granted bail, the court has imposed a condition that prohibits him from traveling abroad without prior approval, thereby ensuring oversight on his movements during the ongoing legal proceedings.
