සතියේ සදුදා දින පමණක් ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලවල අයදුම්කරුවන්ට සහ අස්වැසුම ගිණුම්වලට මුදල් නොලද අයට එම ගිණුම පරික්ෂා කර ගැනීමට අවස්ථාව ලබා දී ඇති බවයි නෝර්වුඩ් ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ නිළධාරියෙකු කියා සිටියේ.
නෝර්වුඩ් සහ තලවකැලේ ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලවල අස්වැසුම ප්රතිලාභීන්ගේ මුදල් ඔවුන්ගේ ගිණුමට බැර නොකර එම කාර්යාලයේ නිළධාරින් විසින් සිදු කල මුදල් වංචාවක් නිසා මෙසේ අස්වැසුම අයදුම්කරුවන් සහ ප්රතිලාභීන් තම ගිණුම පරික්ෂා කර ගැනීමට ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාල වෙත පැමිණ සිටින බවයි එම නිළධාරියා කියා සිටියේ.
අස්වැසම ප්රතිලාභීන්ගේ නාම ලේඛණයක් ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාල බල ප්රදේශයේ සියලුම ග්රාමසේවා බල ප්රදේශවල සහ තම කාර්යාලයේ 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් මස මුල් සතියේ සිට ප්රදර්ශනය කිරිමට මේ වන වටි පියවර ගනිමින් සිටින බව එම නිළධාරියා වැඩි දුරටත් පැවසීය.
තවද නෝර්වුඩ් ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ අස්වැසුම මුදල් වංචාව රු.දෙකෝටි හැටපන් ලක්ෂය දක්වා ඉහළ ගොස් ඇති බවත්, එය 2023 වසර සදහා පමණක් සිදු කල විගණනයේදි අනාවරණය වූ බවයි නෝර්වුඩ් ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ උසස් නිළදාරියෙකු කියා සිටියේ.
2024, 2025 සහ 2026 වසරවලට අදාළ විගණනයන් සිදු කිරිමට නියමිත බවද එම නිළධාරියා පැවසීය.

Residents Await Financial Assistance Amid Heavy Rain in Norwayd
A large group of residents gathered outside the Norwayd Divisional Secretariat despite inclement weather on the 31st, hoping to inquire about their applications for financial assistance following the recent adverse climatic conditions. Many had yet to receive the benefits despite submitting applications.
An official from the Divisional Secretariat indicated that the office had provided a brief window on Monday for applicants to check their accounts and verify the status of their financial assistance, aimed at those who had not yet received any funds.
The situation has arisen from a financial scam perpetrated by officials within the Divisional Secretariat, which has resulted in many beneficiaries in Norwayd and Talawakelle failing to receive the expected funds. As a result, applicants flocked to the office to check their accounts for any discrepancies.
The office has begun the process of displaying a list of beneficiaries across all Gram Sevaka divisions within the Norwayd Divisional Secretariat area, with plans to showcase this information starting from the first week of September 2026.
Moreover, it has been reported that the amount involved in the financial fraud at the Norwayd Divisional Secretariat has escalated to Rs. 270 million, a figure revealed during an audit conducted for the year 2023. An official confirmed this alarming finding.
Plans for further audits concerning the years 2024, 2025, and 2026 are also on the agenda, ensuring accountability moving forward.
