හිටපු පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී උදය ගම්මන්පිල මහතා විසින් අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ විමර්ශන කොමිෂන් සභාවේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජනරාල්වරයාට අපහාස වන අයුරින් සිදුකළ ප්‍රකාශයක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් අල්ලස, දූෂණය හා නාස්තියට එරෙහි පුරවැසි සංවිධානය විසින් එම කොමිෂන් සභාවට පැමිණිල්ලක් ඉදිරිපත් කර තිබේ.

පසුගිය ඔක්තෝබර් 21 වන දින පැවති ප්‍රවෘත්ති සාකච්ඡාවකදී මාධ්‍යවේදියෙකු නැගූ ප්‍රශ්නයකට පිළිතුරු දෙමින්, අල්ලස් කොමිසමේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජනරාල්වරයා දූෂිත පත්වීමක් ලෙස හිටපු මන්ත්‍රීවරයා හැඳින්වූ බව එම සංවිධානයේ සභාපති ජාමුණි කාමන්ත මහතා පවසයි.

2023 අංක 9 දරන දූෂණ විරෝධී පනතේ ප්‍රතිපාදනවලට අනුව, කොමිෂන් සභාවේ අධිකාරියට හෝ එහි නිලධාරීන්ට අපහාස වන අයුරින් කටයුතු කිරීම දඬුවම් ලැබිය හැකි වරදකි.

එවැනි වැරදි සම්බන්ධයෙන් නඩු විභාග කිරීමේ බලය ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණය සතු වන අතර, වරදකරු කරනු ලබන තැනැත්තෙකුට රුපියල් මිලියනයක දඩයක් හෝ වසර හතක් දක්වා සිරදඬුවම් නියම කිරීමට පනත මගින් ප්‍රතිපාදන සලසා ඇත.

අදාළ ප්‍රකාශය ඇතුළත් දර්ශන සහිත සංයුක්ත තැටියක් සාක්ෂි ලෙස කොමිෂන් සභාවට භාර දී ඇති අතර, ජාමුණි කාමන්ත මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් අවධාරණය කළේ දූෂණ මර්දන ක්‍රියාවලිය අඩාල කිරීමේ අරමුණින් මෙවැනි ප්‍රකාශ සිදුකර ඇති බවයි.

එබැවින් මේ පිළිබඳව වහාම පරීක්ෂණයක් පවත්වා නීතිය ක්‍රියාත්මක කරන ලෙස එම සංවිධානය අල්ලස් කොමිසමෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටී.

Complaints Filed Against Former MP for Contemptuous Remarks on Anti-Corruption Commission

A citizens' organization dedicated to combating corruption and malpractice has lodged a formal complaint with the Anti-Corruption Commission concerning disparaging remarks made by former Parliament member Udaya Gammanpila towards the Commission's Director General.

During a press conference held on October 21, Gammanpila was reported to have referred to the Director General of the Commission as part of a corrupt appointment, as highlighted by the organization's chairman, Jamuni Kamantha. This incident has sparked concerns regarding the integrity and authority of the Commission during its investigations.

The complaint points out that under the provisions of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 9 of 2023, actions that insult the authority of the Commission or its officials are punishable offenses. The Supreme Court holds the jurisdiction to adjudicate such violations, with the law stipulating penalties that can include fines up to one million rupees or imprisonment for up to seven years.

A compiled dossier, which includes visual evidence of Gammanpila's statements, has been submitted to the Commission as part of the complaint. Kamantha emphasized the potential aim behind such remarks – to undermine anti-corruption efforts.

In light of these developments, the organization is urging the Commission to undertake an immediate investigation and enforce applicable laws.
