යාල කැලේ විශේෂ ව්‍යාපෘතියක්...

 යාල ජාතික වනෝද්‍යානයට  සංචාරකයින් පැමිණිමේදි මුහුණදීමට සිදුවන දුෂ්කරතාවයන් අවම කිරීමේ අරමුණින් නව භෞතික සැලැස්මක් සහිත විශේෂ ව්‍යාපෘතියක් ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් වනජිවි සංරක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ නිළධාරීන් සමග පැවැති සාකච්ජාව සදහා  පරිසර අමාත්‍ය වෛද්‍ය දම්මික පටබැඳි මහතා සහභාගි විය.

යාල ජාතික වනෝද්‍යානයේ   කලාප අංක 02 හි පලටුපාන පිවිසුමේ ප්‍රධාන කාර්යාලයේ පැවැති මෙම සාකච්ඡාව සදහා පරිසර අමාත්‍යංශයේ ලේකම් කේ.ආර් උඩුවාවල,වනජිවි සංරක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ අතිරේක අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජනරාල්, මෙහෙයුම් මංජුල අමරනාත්,වනජිවි අංශයේ අතිරේක ලේකම්  උදය කුමාර ඇතුළු මහත්වරුන් සහ පරිසර අමාත්‍යංශයේ උසස් නිළධාරීන් රැසක්ද  මෙම සාකච්ඡාවට සහභාගි විය. 

ජාත්‍යන්තර වනෝද්‍යාන ප්‍රමිතීන්ට අනුුකූලව සංචාරක තදබදය අවම කිරීම ඉලක්ක කර ගනිමින් යාල ජාතික වනෝද්‍යානයේ භෞතිකන සම්පත් සංවර්ධනය කිරීමට මෙම සාකච්ඡාවේදි විශේෂ අවධානය යොමු විය.මෙහිදි කෙටි කාලීනව සහ දිගු කාලීනව ඉලක්ක කර කර ගනිමින් සකස් කරන ලද භෞතික සැලැස්ම නිළධාරීන් විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කරනු ලැබිණි.වඩාත් ආකර්ෂණිය ලෙස සහ වනෝද්‍යානයකට සුදුසු පරිදි තිරසරව උද්‍යාන ඉදිකිරීම් සිදු කිරීමට අදාලව මෙහිදි අදහස් හුවමාරු විය. උද්‍යානයට ඇතුලුවන සංචාරකයින්ගේ රථවාහන නවතා තැබීමට සහ සේවා මධ්‍යස්ථාන නව ආකාරයකින් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමටත් ඒ තුලින් සංචාරක කර්මාන්තය සදහා දායකත්වයක් ලබා දීමත් විශේෂ අවධානය යොමුව ඇත. 

වනෝද්‍යානයේ පිවිසුම,තොරතුරුමධ්‍යස්ථානය,අතිරේක ටිකට් කවුළු,කෞතුකාගාරය,සංචාරක  සනීපාරක්ෂක සේවාවන්,විසිතුරු අලෙවි භාණ්ඩ මධ්‍යස්ථාන සහ උද්‍යාන සේවක නේවාසිකාගාර වැඩි දියුණු කිරීම  සම්බන්ධයෙන් මෙම සාකච්ඡාවේදි වැඩි අවධානයක් යොමු විය. සංචාරක ආකර්ෂණය වැඩි දියුණු කිරීම සදහා උද්‍යාන භෞතික සැලැස්ම ක්‍රියාත්මක අතර ඊට සමාන්තර මානව සම්පත් සහ සේවක පුරප්පාඩු පිරවීමටද වනජිවි සංරක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ අවධානය යොමුකර ඇත. අදාල සැලැස්මේ පවතින ගැටලු කඩිනමින් නිරාකරණය කර අනුමැතියෙන් පසුව අදාල ව්‍යපෘති කඩිනමින් ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට නියමිතය.

මෙම සංචාරයේදී යාල ජාතික වනෝද්‍යානයේ ස්ථාන කිහිපයක් නිරික්ෂණයට ලක් වු අතර පවතින ගැටළු සම්බන්ධයෙන් සහ නිළධාරින් ඉදිරිපත් කරනු ලැබු තොරතුරු සම්බන්ධයෙන් පරිසර  විෂය භාර අමාත්‍යතුමාගේ විශේෂ අවධානයට ලක්විය. මෙහිදි දේශීය සහ විදේශීය සංචාරක පහසුකම් වැඩි දියුණු කිරීමට අවධානය යොමුව ඇති  අතර සංචාරකයින් වැඩි වශයෙන් පැමිණිමේදි  පිවිසුම් ප්‍රවේශපත්‍ර නිකුත් කිරීමේදි සිදුවන ප්‍රමාදයන් අවම කිරීම සදහා තවත් අතිරේක ප්‍රවේශ පත්‍ර කවුන්ටර් කිහිපයක් අලුතින් සකස්කර ඒ සදහා නව තාක්ෂණික ක්‍රමවේද වැඩි දියුණු කිරීමට  නිළධාරීන්ට උපදෙස් ලබා දෙන ලදි.

ජිප් රථ විශාල වශයෙන් ඇතුලු වීමත් සමග අබලන්ව ඇති උද්‍යාන මාර්ග පද්ධතිය සුදුසු ලෙස ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණය කිරීමටත් යාල කලාප අංක 02 ප්‍රදේශයේ  සතුන් නිරික්ෂණය කිරීමට ඇති අධික ඉල්ලුම සහ තද බදය අවම කිරීමේ අරමුණින් ලුණුගම්වෙහෙර  පිවිසුමේ පහසුකම් සංවර්ධනය කිරීම සහ අරන්ගමුව නව නැරඹුම් කලාපයක් ලෙස අලුතින්  ආරම්භ කිරීමටද මෙහිදි යෝජනා විය. 

වියළි කාලගුණික තත්වයත් සමග  සතුන්ට අවශ්‍ය ජල පහසුකම් උද්‍යානයට දෛනිකව ලබා දීම සිදුකරනු ලබන අතර ඒ සදහා බවුසර් රථ 03ක් භාවිතා කරනු ලබයි. මිට අමතරව සුර්ය පැනල තුලින් විදුලිය උද්පාදනය කරමින් වනෝද්‍යාන ස්ථාන 06ක පිහිටුවා ඇති ජල සම්පාදන ඒකකයන් තුලින් සකස් කර කරන ලද කුඩා ප්‍රමාණයේ පොකුණු සදහා ජලය සම්පාදනය කිරීමට වනජිවි සංරක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමෙන්තුව කටයුතු යොදා ඇත.එම ධාරිතාවය අවශ්‍යතාවය අනුව වැඩි කිරීමට නියමිතය.

Minister and Wildlife Officials Discuss New Development Plans for Yala National Park

In an effort to enhance visitor experiences while reducing challenges at Yala National Park, Environment Minister Dr. Dammika Patabandige engaged in discussions with Wildlife Conservation Department officials. The meeting focused on implementing a comprehensive new physical plan aimed at managing tourist inflow more effectively.

Taking place at the main office of the Palatupana entrance within Sector 02 of Yala National Park, the meeting was attended by K.R. Udawawala, Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, along with senior officials from the Wildlife Conservation Department, including Additional Director General Manjula Amarathunga and Additional Secretary Uday Kumara, among others.

The focus of the discussions was on developing tangible resources at Yala National Park in line with international wildlife management standards to mitigate tourist congestion. Officials presented a short-term and long-term physical plan designed to address these pressing issues. Ideas were exchanged regarding sustainable park development that is both attractive and suitable for the wildlife sanctuary, particularly emphasizing innovative solutions for parking and service areas to bolster the tourism sector.

Significant attention was given to enhancing park entrances, visitor information centers, ticket counters, museums, and sanitation services, as well as improving accommodations for park staff. The implementation of the physical plan aims to increase visitor attraction, while also addressing human resource needs and job vacancies in the department. Immediate resolution of existing challenges is expected to pave the way for rapid project deployment post-approval.

During this visit, various locations within Yala National Park were inspected. The Minister highlighted critical issues raised by officials based on the assessment. Attention was directed toward enhancing both domestic and international visitor facilities, aiming to minimize delays in issuing entrance passes during peak visitor days by introducing multiple new ticket counters and advanced technical solutions.

As a large number of jeep vehicles enter the park, a restoration of the park’s road system is planned alongside efforts to develop facilities at the Lunugamwehera entrance. The establishment of Arangamuwaw as a new observation point was also proposed to help reduce crowding and meet the increasing demand for wildlife observation in Sector 02.

Given the dry climatic conditions, daily provisions of water for animals are facilitated through three bowser vehicles. Additionally, the department has initiated small water ponds supplied by water procurement units powered by solar panels across six locations within the sanctuary. There are plans to enhance this infrastructure according to requirements.
