රට පුරා ග‍්‍රාම සේවකලා වැඩ වර්ජනයක...

 

තමන් මුහුණ දී ඇති දීමනා ගැටලුවකට විසඳුම් ඉල්ලා දිවයින පුරා විසිරී සිටින ග්‍රාම නිලධාරීන් අද (10) සහ හෙට (11) යන දෙදින තුළ අසනීප නිවාඩු වාර්තා කරමින් වෘත්තීය සමිති ක්‍රියාමාර්ගයක නිරත වීමට තීරණය කර තිබේ.

මෙම වෘත්තීය සමිති ක්‍රියාමාර්ගය හේතුවෙන් දිවයින පුරා පිහිටි ග්‍රාම නිලධාරී කාර්යාල වසා දමා ඇති අතර, මේ නිසා විවිධ අවශ්‍යතා සඳහා සේවා ලබා ගැනීමට පැමිණි මහජනතාව දැඩි අපහසුතාවට පත්ව ඇති බව වාර්තා වේ.

තමන් වෙත පැවරී ඇති දෛනික රාජකාරිවලට අමතරව සිදු කරනු ලබන බාහිර රාජකාරි සඳහා දැනට ගෙවනු ලබන රුපියල් 600ක දීමනාව වර්තමාන ආර්ථික තත්ත්වය හමුවේ කිසිසේත්ම ප්‍රමාණවත් නොවන බව වෘත්තීය සමිති පෙන්වා දෙයි.

මෙම දීමනාව අවසන් වරට සංශෝධනය කර ඇත්තේ 2006 වසරේදී බවත්, වසර 18ක් වැනි දීර්ඝ කාලයක් ගතවී ඇතත් මෙතෙක් එය ඉහළ නැංවීමට බලධාරීන් පියවර ගෙන නොමැති බවත් වර්ජනයේ නිරත ග්‍රාම නිලධාරියෙකු සඳහන් කළේය.

පවතින ජීවන වියදම හමුවේ මෙම සොච්චම් දීමනාව යටතේ තවදුරටත් අමතර සේවාවන් සැපයිය නොහැකි බව පවසන ග්‍රාම නිලධාරීන්, රජය වහා මැදිහත් වී සාධාරණ දීමනා සංශෝධනයක් ලබා දිය යුතු බව අවධාරණය කර සිටියි.

Grama Niladhari Association Calls for Action Amidst Compensation Issues

Grama Niladharis, the local administrative officers spread across the country, have decided to take a stand by reporting sick leave today (10) and tomorrow (11), in a protest against unsatisfactory compensation for their services. The move aims to draw attention to the pressing issues they face regarding their allowances.

The strike has led to the closure of Grama Niladhari offices nationwide, causing considerable inconvenience to the public who rely on these services for various needs. Reports indicate that many are struggling to access essential services due to the ongoing action.

Currently, the monthly allowance of Rs. 600 paid for external duties—beyond their daily responsibilities—is deemed insufficient by the Grama Niladhari Association in light of the prevailing economic situation. They emphasize that this amount, which has not been amended since its last revision in 2006, is far from adequate after 18 years.

One officer participating in the strike highlighted that despite the prolonged duration of the existing allowance, authorities have yet to take any steps to increase it. This disregard for the increasing cost of living continues to exacerbate their challenges.

Grama Niladharis are urging the government to step in promptly and provide a fair revision of these allowances, stressing that under the current conditions, they cannot continue to offer additional services effectively without a significant adjustment to their compensation.
