බැසිල්ගේ ඇප මුදල් රාජසන්තක කරයි..

අයථා ලෙස උපයන ලද මුදල් යොදවා මාතර, බ්‍රවුන්ස්හිල් ප්‍රදේශයෙන් අක්කර එකහමාරක ඉඩමක් මිලදී ගැනීමේ සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් චෝදනා ලැබ සිටින හිටපු අමාත්‍ය බැසිල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා තැන්පත් කර තිබූ ඇප මුදල් රාජසන්තක කිරීමට මාතර ප්‍රධාන මහෙස්ත්‍රාත් (18) නියෝග කළේය.

පොලිස් මූල්‍ය අපරාධ කොට්ඨාසය මඟින් පවරා ඇති මෙම නඩුව අද දින කැඳවූ අවස්ථාවේදී, එහි තෙවන විත්තිකරු වන බැසිල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් නොවීය.

ඔහු අධිකරණයට පිළිගත හැකි මට්ටමේ වෛද්‍ය වාර්තාවක් ඉදිරිපත් නොකර දිගින් දිගටම නඩු වාර මඟහරින බව නිරීක්ෂණය කළ මහෙස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා මෙම නියෝගය නිකුත් කළේය.

මීට අමතරව, බැසිල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා වෙනුවෙන් ශරීර ඇප ඉදිරිපත් කළ ඇපකරුවන් තිදෙනාට දඩ මුදල් නියම කළ අධිකරණය, එම දඩ මුදල් නොගෙවන්නේ නම් ඔවුන් බන්ධනාගාරගත කිරීමට ද නියෝග කළේය.

සැකකරුට එරෙහිව නිකුත් කර තිබූ වරෙන්තුව 2026 ඔක්තෝබර් මස 27 වන දින දක්වා දීර්ඝ කිරීමට ද මෙහිදී පියවර ගැනිණි.

නඩුවේ පළමු සහ දෙවන සැකකරුවන් අද දින අධිකරණයේ පෙනී සිටි අතර, පැමිණිලි පාර්ශ්වය වෙනුවෙන් අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ නිලධාරීන් කරුණු වාර්තා කළහ.

විත්තිකාර බැසිල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා වෙනුවෙන් ජනාධිපති නීතිඥ අනිල් ද සිල්වා මහතා ඇතුළු නීතිඥ මණ්ඩලයක් පෙනී සිටියහ.

Court Orders Bail For Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa in Land Acquisition Case

The Matara Chief Magistrate has ordered the confiscation of bail money submitted by former Minister Basil Rajapaksa, in connection with allegations involving the improper purchase of a 1.4-acre plot in the Browns Hill area.

During a hearing today, the Financial Crimes Investigation Division of the police confirmed that Rajapaksa, who is one of the three defendants in the case, failed to appear in court. He did not provide an acceptable medical report to justify his absence, leading the magistrate to recognize a pattern of consistently missing court appearances.

Furthermore, the court mandated that three bail guarantors who presented their bodies as surety on behalf of Rajapaksa must pay fines. Should they fail to comply with these financial penalties, they face the possibility of imprisonment.

Additionally, the bench extended the defendant's outstanding bail until October 27, 2026. Today’s session also saw the first and second accused present in court, while officials from the Criminal Investigation Department provided insights on the matter.

A legal team, including Presidential Counsel Anil de Silva, represented Basil Rajapaksa during the court proceedings.
