Police Engage in Shooting Incident to Rescue Kidnapped Woman in Nawala

In a dramatic turn of events in the Nawala area, police opened fire on a vehicle reported to be involved in the attempted abduction of a woman at a roadblock. The operation unfolded when officers commanded the car to stop, but the driver disregarded the order and attempted to flee.

The gunfire successfully halted the vehicle, allowing law enforcement officials to safely extract the woman inside. Fortunately, she was rescued unharmed.

However, the suspect driving the car managed to escape the scene. In light of this, the Narahenpita Police have initiated a special investigation to locate and apprehend the individual responsible.

The rescued woman is currently under police care, with further statements expected to be documented regarding the incident.
