Since the onset of the Ukraine crisis, Russian oil has been shunned by Western markets. However, India has capitalized on high discounts, managing to accumulate substantial economic benefits over the past four years, reportedly saving around $12.6 billion.

Nonetheless, this new legal measure from the US introduces grave geopolitical risks for India, as highlighted by the BBC.
