 මහනුවර, ගලගෙදර, කහන්පිටිවල ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි හිටපු දේශපාලනඥයකුගේ ඥාති සහෝදරයෙකුට අයත්ව තිබූ පැරණි බංගලාවක කොන්ක්‍රීට් දමා වසා තිබූ වළක් තුළ සඟවා තිබූ විවිධ වර්ගයේ ගිනිඅවි සඳහා භාවිත කරන සජීවී උණ්ඩ 3,711ක් සොයාගත් බව ගලගෙදර පොලිසිය පවසයි.

අදාළ බංගලාව මීට වසර හතරකට පමණ පෙර ගුවන් නියමුවෙකු වෙත විකුණා ඇති අතර, පෞද්ගලික ආයතනයක් මඟින් එහි ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණ කටයුතු සිදු කරමින් සිටියදී මෙම උණ්ඩ තොගය හමුවී තිබේ.

ඒ පිළිබඳව අදාළ ගුවන් නියමුවා විසින් ගලගෙදර පොලිසිය වෙත දැනුම් දීමෙන් අනතුරුව පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් කණ්ඩායමක් එම ස්ථානයට ගොස් විමර්ශන ආරම්භ කර ඇත.

එහිදී සොයාගත් උණ්ඩ තොගය මෙසේය.

•       මිලිමීටර් 9 වර්ගයේ උණ්ඩ - 2,310ක්
•       එම්-16 (M-16) වර්ගයේ උණ්ඩ - 411ක්
•       ටී-56 (T-56) වර්ගයේ උණ්ඩ - 409ක්
•       මිලිමීටර් 0.38 වර්ගයේ රිවෝල්වර උණ්ඩ - 384ක්
•       එම්.පී.එම්.ජී. (MPMG) මැෂින් තුවක්කු උණ්ඩ - 167ක්
•       මිලිමීටර් 0.22 වර්ගයේ උණ්ඩ - 28ක්
•       බෝර් 12 වර්ගයේ උණ්ඩ - 02ක්
•       බෝර් 12 හිස් පතරොම් කොපු - 04ක්

මීට අමතරව, පිස්තෝල මැගසිනයක්, උණ්ඩ රහිත හිස් කොළ පැහැති තහඩු පෙට්ටියක්, උණ්ඩ රඳවන ප්ලාස්ටික් කැබලි 53ක් සහ විවිධ වර්ගයේ පිස්තෝල බහාලන කළු පැහැති හිස් පෙට්ටි 4ක් ද එම ස්ථානයේ තිබී පොලිසිය විසින් සොයාගෙන ඇත.

අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් මෙම උණ්ඩ තොගය සම්බන්ධයෙන් අධිකරණය හමුවට කරුණු වාර්තා කිරීමට නියමිතය.

Large Cache of Ammunition Discovered in Galagedara

In a startling revelation, authorities unearthed a staggering 3,711 live ammunition rounds hidden within a concrete-blocked hole of an old bungalow in the Galagedara area, previously owned by a former politician's relative. The Galagedara police confirmed the discovery, which took place in the vicinity of Kahanpitawala.

The bungalow had been sold to an aviation company approximately four years ago. While undergoing renovations by a private entity, the cache of ammunition was inadvertently uncovered.

Upon receiving a notification from the aviation company regarding the find, a squad of police officers promptly arrived at the site to initiate an investigation.

The recovered ammunition includes:

•       2,310 rounds of 9mm caliber
•       411 rounds of M-16 caliber
•       409 rounds of T-56 caliber
•       384 rounds of .38 caliber revolver ammunition
•       167 rounds of MPMG machine gun ammunition
•       28 rounds of .22 caliber
•       2 rounds of .12 caliber
•       4 empty .12 caliber cartridge cases

Additionally, authorities located a pistol magazine, an empty white box designed for holding ammunition, 53 plastic pieces for holding rounds, and four various types of black empty pistol cases at the location.

The police are preparing to submit a report regarding the seized ammunition to the court for further judicial proceedings.
