මෙම මාසයට අදාළ ඉන්ධන මිල සංශෝධනය අද (30) රාත්‍රියේ ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කිරීමට නියමිත අතර, එහිදී ඩීසල් ලීටරයක් සඳහා රුපියල් 70 ක සහනාධාරයක් ලබාදීමට රජය සැලසුම් කර ඇති බව බලශක්ති අමාත්‍ය අනුර කරුණාතිලක මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

ජනතාවට සහනයක් සැලසීමේ අරමුණින් මෙම ඉන්ධන සහනාධාරය ලබාදීමට රජය පියවර ගත්තද, ඒ වෙනුවෙන් ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාවට දැවැන්ත මූල්‍ය බරක් දරා ගැනීමට සිදුවන බව අමාත්‍යවරයා පෙන්වා දෙයි.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, පවතින ආර්ථික තත්ත්වය හමුවේ ඩීසල් සඳහා මෙලෙස සහනාධාර ලබා දුන්නද, පෙට්‍රල් සඳහා කිසිදු ආකාරයක සහනාධාරයක් ලබාදීමට හැකියාවක් නොමැති බවද අමාත්‍ය අනුර කරුණාතිලක මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

Government to Announce Fuel Price Adjustments Amid Economic Challenges

The anticipated announcement regarding the adjustment of fuel prices for this month is scheduled for tonight, October 30. Energy Minister Anura Yapa Karunaratne revealed that the government plans to provide a subsidy of 70 rupees per liter for diesel.

This subsidy aims to alleviate the burden on the public, although the minister noted that it will impose significant financial pressures on the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation. The decision, while intended to assist consumers, raises concerns about the sustainability of the state-owned enterprise amidst ongoing economic difficulties.

Despite the subsidy for diesel, Minister Karunaratne emphasized that there will be no provision for petrol, indicating the government's limited capacity to extend similar support in the current economic climate.
