මස්කෙළිය සාමිමලේ ගාඩ්මෝර් පුද්ගලික වතුයායේ ගල්කන්ද කොටසේ නාය යාම ශක්‍රිය විමත් සමග එහි පදිංචිව සිට පවුල් 06ක පාසල් සිසුන් 05 දෙනකු ඇතුළු තිස් දෙනකු එම ස්ථානයෙන් ඉවත් කර එම වතුයායේ බෙහෙත් ශාලාවක් තුල තාවකාලිකව පදංචි කිරිමට පියවර ගෙන ඇත.

මෙම ප්‍රදේශයන්ට පවතින අයහපත් කාලගුණික තත්වයන් හමුවේ ගාඩ්මෝර් වතුයායේ ගල් කන්ද කොටසේ 20වන දින ඇතිවු නායයාම 21වන දින වන විට තව දුරටත් ශක්‍රිය විම හේතුවෙන් මෙම පවුල් 06 එම ස්ථානයෙන් ඉවත් කිරිමට එහි පාලන අධිකාරිය විසින් පියවර ගන්නා ලදි.

මෙසේ තාවකාලිවක ඉවත් කරන ලද පිරිසට අවශ්‍ය ආහාර ආදිය එම ප්‍රදේශයේ ග්‍රාම නිලධාරිවරයාගේ මැදිහත් විම මත ලබා දිමට පියවර ගෙන ඇති අතර එම ස්ථානයට යාබදව ප්‍රදේශයද නායයාමේ අවදානමක් පවතින බවත් යම් හෙයකින් එම ප්‍රදේශය නායයාමට ලක් වුවහොත් එහි ජිවත්වන  පවුල් 36ක් අවදාම් තත්වයන්ට පත්වන බවද එම ප්‍රදේශයේ පිරිසක් පවසති.

Evacuations Underway at Gal Kandha Estate as Landslide Threats Loom

In response to escalating landslide risks at the Gal Kandha section of the Gadmore estate in Maskeliya, local authorities have commenced evacuations involving six families, including five schoolchildren. The residents are being temporarily relocated to a designated facility within the estate’s medical hall.

The evacuation efforts began following reports of an active landslide which occurred on the 20th of this month, with conditions continuing to jeopardize safety even by the 21st. The local governing body deemed immediate action necessary to safeguard the families from potential harm.

As part of their efforts, local officials have arranged for the provision of essential food supplies for those displaced, while also monitoring the surrounding areas for further landslide threats. Concerns have been raised by community members that should the situation deteriorate, approximately 36 additional families living nearby could also find themselves at risk.
