ගාල්ල ප්‍රදේශයේ පදිංචි පුද්ගලයෙකු විසින් සිදු කරන ලද පැමිණිල්ලකට අනුව, පැමිණිලිකාරියගේ දරුවන් දෙදෙනා පාසලට ඇතුළත් කර දීම සඳහා, එක් ළමයෙකුට රු.300,000/- (රුපියල් ලක්ෂ තුන) බැගින් ළමයින් දෙදෙනාට රු.600,000/-ක( රුපියල් ලක්ෂ හය) මුදලක් ඉල්ලා, පසුව එකී මුදල රු.300,000/-ක් (රුපියල් ලක්ෂ තුන) දක්වා අඩු කර, එයින් රු.150,000/- ක (රුපියල් එක්ලක්ෂ පනස් දහස) මුදලක් අල්ලස් ලෙස ඉල්ලා ලබාගෙන, 2026 වසරේ පළමු ශ්‍රේණියට එක් ළමයෙකු ඇතුළත් කර, අනිත් ළමයා 08 වසරට ඇතුළත් කර ගැනීමට කටයුතු කර දීම සඳහා ඉතිරි රු.150,000/-ක (රුපියල් එක්ලක්ෂ පනස්දහස) මුදලින් රු.50,000/-ක (රුපියල් පනස්දහස) මුදලක් ඉල්ලා ලබාගෙන එම ළමයා ද පාසලට ඇතුළත් කර, නැවත ළමුන් දෙදෙනා පාසලට ඇතුළත් කර දීමට අවශ්‍ය කටයුතු කර දීම වෙනුවෙන් තවත් රු.250,000/- ක (රුපියල් දෙලක්ෂ පනස්දහසක) මුදලක් ඉල්ලා එකී මුදල ලබා නොදුන්නොත් ළමුන් දෙදෙනාම පාසැලෙන් ඉවත් කරන බව පවසා එසේ කටයුතු කිරීම සඳහා අල්ලස් ලෙස රු.250,000/- ක (රුපියල් දෙලක්ෂ පනස් දහස) මුදලක් ඉල්ලා ලබා ගැනීම යන චෝදනාව මත බොනවිස්ටාර් විද්‍යාලයේ විදුහල්පතිවරයා වූ හෙට්ටිආරච්චිගේ රංජිත් ෆොන්සේකා යන අය ගාල්ල, හබරාදූව මාර්ගයේ පිහිටි වෙළඳ සැලක් තුළ දී අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ චෝදනා විර්මශන කොමිෂන් සභාවේ විර්මශන නිලධාරීන් විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා ලදි.

අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා ලද සැකකරු අධිකරණය ෙවත ඉදරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිත ය.

Principal Arrested for Allegedly Demanding Bribes to Enroll Students in School

A principal from a school in Galle has been arrested following a complaint lodged by a local resident. Allegedly, the principal demanded a total of 600,000 Sri Lankan Rupees (approximately $1,600) to enroll two children in school, initially asking for 300,000 Rupees per child.

Subsequently, the required amount was reportedly reduced to 300,000 Rupees, with 150,000 Rupees being solicited as a bribe to facilitate the admission of one child into the first grade. The other child was admitted to the eighth grade after the principal accepted an additional 50,000 Rupees from the remaining balance.

In a twist, the principal later threatened that unless a further 250,000 Rupees was provided, both children would be expelled from the school. This extortion led to the involvement of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, which conducted the arrest at a local shop along the Galle-Habaraduwa road.

The suspect is expected to be presented in court shortly.
