වාහන මිල දැනෙන්නම ඉහලට..

රජය විසින් වාහන ආනයන බදු මත පනවා තිබූ සියයට 50ක අධිභාරය (Surcharge) ලබන දෙසැම්බර් 31 වනදා දක්වා දීර්ඝ කිරීමට ගත් තීරණයත් සමඟ මෙරට වාහන මිල ශීඝ්‍රයෙන් ඉහළ ගොස් ඇත.

ඒ අනුව ඇතැම් ජනප්‍රිය වාහන මාදිලිවල මිල රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 45ක් දක්වා ඉහළ ගොස් තිබේ.

පසුගිය මැයි මස 15 වනදායින් පසුව විවෘත කරන ලද ණයවර ලිපි (LC) යටතේ ආනයනය කර මෙරටට ගෙන්වන ලද වාහන සඳහා මෙම ඉහළ බදු අනුපාතය බලපැවැත්වීම මිල ඉහළ යාමට ප්‍රධාන හේතුව වී ඇත.

අලෙවි නියෝජිතයන් පවසන්නේ වෙළඳපොළේ පවතින වාහන මිල ගණන් දැනටමත් සැලකිය යුතු ලෙස සංශෝධනය වී ඇති බවයි.

•     ටොයෝටා ලෑන්ඩ් කෲසර් (Toyota Land Cruiser): රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 45කින් (මිලියන 4.5)
•     ටොයෝටා ප්‍රාඩෝ (Toyota Prado): රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 25කින් (මිලියන 2.5)
•     ඩබල් කැබ් රථ (Double-cabs): රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 20 - 25ත් අතර ප්‍රමාණයකින්
•     හොන්ඩා වෙසල් (Honda Vezel): රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 9කින්
•     ටොයෝටා රයිස් (Toyota Raize): රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 8කින්
•     සුසුකි වැගන් ආර් (Suzuki Wagon R): රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 5කින්
•     ටොයෝටා යාරිස් (Toyota Yaris): රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 5කින්
•     BYD Atto 1 (විදුලි මෝටර් රථ): රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 10කින්

මේ පිළිබඳව අදහස් දක්වමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකා වාහන ආනයනකරුවන්ගේ සංගමයේ (VIASL) සභාපති ප්‍රසාද් මානගේ මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, මෙම අධිභාරය දීර්ඝ නොකරනු ඇතැයි තමන් අපේක්ෂා කළද, එය තවදුරටත් ක්‍රියාත්මක වීම නිසා ප්‍රදර්ශනාගාර මිල ගණන් මෙලෙස ඉහළ ගොස් ඇති බවයි.

දැනට වෙළඳපොළේ පවතින වාහනවලින් සියයට 90ක් පමණ මැයි 15ට පෙර විවෘත කළ ණයවර ලිපි යටතේ ගෙන්වූ ඒවා වුවද, නව බදු යටතේ ගෙන්වන වාහන තොග නිදහස් කර ගැනීම ආරම්භ වීමත් සමඟ මිල ගණන් තවදුරටත් ඉහළ යා හැකි බව ඔහු පෙන්වා දෙයි.

වාහන මිල ස්ථාවර කිරීම සඳහා නැවත නැවතත් අධිභාර පැනවීම වෙනුවට බදු ප්‍රතිපත්තිය සංශෝධනය කිරීම, ණයවර ලිපි නියාමනය කිරීම සහ ස්ථාවර විනිමය අනුපාත හඳුන්වා දීම වැනි විකල්ප ක්‍රියාමාර්ග කෙරෙහි රජය අවධානය යොමු කළ යුතු බව ද ප්‍රසාද් මානගේ මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් අවධාරණය කළේය.

Rising Vehicle Prices in Sri Lanka Amidst Extended Import Tax Surcharge

The Sri Lankan government’s decision to prolong the 50% surcharge on vehicle import taxes until December 31 has triggered a swift increase in vehicle prices across the country.

Some popular vehicle models have seen their prices surge by as much as Rs. 4.5 million (approximately Rs. 450,000).

The heightened tax rate, applicable to vehicles imported under letters of credit (LC) opened after May 15, was a primary factor driving the price hike. This situation has created significant upward pressure on market valuations.

Sales representatives indicate that vehicle prices in the market have already undergone considerable adjustments, reflecting the new tax regime.

•     Toyota Land Cruiser: Increased by Rs. 4.5 million
•     Toyota Prado: Increased by Rs. 2.5 million
•     Double-cabs: Increased in the range of Rs. 2-2.5 million
•     Honda Vezel: Increased by Rs. 900,000
•     Toyota Raize: Increased by Rs. 800,000
•     Suzuki Wagon R: Increased by Rs. 500,000
•     Toyota Yaris: Increased by Rs. 500,000
•     BYD Atto 1 (Electric Vehicle): Increased by Rs. 1 million

Discussing the situation, Prasad Manage, President of the Vehicle Importers Association of Sri Lanka (VIASL), expressed his expectations that the surcharge would not be extended further, yet noted that its continuation had resulted in increased showroom prices.

Currently, around 90% of the vehicles in the market were imported under LCs opened prior to May 15. However, with the commencement of releasing stocks under the new tax regime, further price increases are anticipated, he warned.

Manange emphasized the need for the government to shift its focus from repeatedly imposing surcharges to revising tax policies, regulating letters of credit more effectively, and introducing a stable exchange rate to stabilize vehicle prices.
