 ප‍්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදයේ හදවත බඳු වූ නීතියේ ආධිපත්‍යය සුරක්ෂිත කරමින් කිසිදු තරාතිරමකට හෝ බාහිර බලපෑමකට යටත් නොවී, දූෂිතයන්ට සහ අපරාධකරුවන්ට එරෙහිව නීතිය අකුරටම ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට රජය පියවර ගෙන ඇතැයි අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය ආචාර්ය හරිනි අමරසූරිය මෙණෙවිය අවධාරණය කරයි.

ජාත්‍යන්තර ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදී දිනය සැමරීම වෙනුවෙන් මැතිවරණ කොමිෂන් සභාව විසින් රාජගිරිය මහ බැංකු පුහුණු ආයතන ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේදී සංවිධානය කර තිබූ විශේෂ උත්සවය අමතමින් අග්‍රාමාත්‍යවරිය මේ බව සඳහන් කළාය.

එහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ අග්‍රාමාත්‍යවරිය පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, නීතිය හමුවේ සමාජයේ සෑම පුරවැසියෙකුම සමාන විය යුතු බවත්, කිසිදු තරාතිරමක පුද්ගලයෙකුට නීතියට ඉහළින් වැජඹීමට ඉඩ තැබිය නොහැකි බවත්ය. පසුගිය කාලසීමාව තුළ පිරිහීමට ලක්ව තිබූ නීතිය පිළිබඳ මහජන විශ්වාසය යළි ගොඩනැගීම වෙනුවෙන් වත්මන් රජය ප්‍රායෝගික සහ සක්‍රීය ක්‍රියාමාර්ග රැසක් ගෙන ඇති බවද ඇය කියා සිටියාය.

එම ක්‍රියාමාර්ග ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමේදී විවිධ පාර්ශ්වයන්ගෙන් එල්ල වන විරෝධතා සහ බාධාවන් දෙස බැලීමේදීම මෙම වැඩපිළිවෙළේ ඇති ජාතික වැදගත්කම මෙන්ම, එම විරෝධතා මතුවන්නේ කවර පාර්ශ්වයන්ගෙන්ද යන්න ඉතා පැහැදිලි වන බවද ඇය පෙන්වා දුන්නාය.

දේශපාලන ඇඟිලි ගැසීම්වලින් තොරව නීතිය ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමේ පූර්ණ ස්වාධීනත්වය සහ නිදහස මේ වන විට පොලීසියට, අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට මෙන්ම සමස්ත අධිකරණ පද්ධතියටම රජය විසින් ලබා දී ඇති බව මෙහිදී අවධාරණය කෙරිණි.

කෙබඳු දේශපාලන බලපෑම් එල්ල වුවද වරදකරුවන්ට එරෙහිව යුක්තිය ඉටු කිරීමේ ක්‍රියාවලිය කිසිසේත් ආපසු නොහරවන බවද අගමැතිනිය ප්‍රකාශ කළාය.

මහජන මුදල් අවභාවිත කළ, රාජ්‍ය දේපළ අයුතු ලෙස පරිහරණය කළ සහ අල්ලස් හා දූෂණවල නිරත වූ පුද්ගලයන්ට එරෙහිව කිසිදු පක්ෂ පාට භේදයකින් තොරව විමර්ශන පවත්වා ඔවුන්ව අධිකරණය හමුවට පමුණුවන බව පැවසූ අග්‍රාමාත්‍යවරිය, නව දූෂණ විරෝධී පනත ප්‍රායෝගිකව ක්‍රියාත්මක කරමින් රට තුළ ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදය සැබෑ ලෙසම අර්ථවත් කිරීමට රජය කැපවී සිටින බව වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළාය.

Government Reaffirms Commitment to Justice and Rule of Law

In a steadfast commitment to uphold the sanctity of the law without succumbing to external pressures or compromises, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya emphasized the government's resolve to enforce justice against corrupt individuals and criminals strictly as mandated by law.

Speaking at a special event organized by the Elections Commission to commemorate International Democracy Day at the Rajagiriya Training Institute, the Prime Minister laid bare her administration's approach to restoring public faith in the legal system, which had been undermined in recent times.

She underscored that every citizen should be treated equally under the law, asserting that no individual should be allowed to rise above it. The current government is taking practical and effective measures to rebuild this trust, which had previously eroded.

As various parties express objections and challenges regarding these initiatives, the Prime Minister noted the national significance of the program, suggesting that it is becoming increasingly clear from which factions these dissenting voices originate.

Furthermore, she highlighted that the government has granted full independence and freedom to the police, the Criminal Investigation Department, and the entire judicial system, ensuring the unbiased enforcement of the law without political interference.

The Prime Minister reiterated that no political pressure would deter the justice process aimed at holding accountable those engaged in financial misconduct, misappropriation of state property, and corruption, vowing to pursue investigations impartially. She asserted the government's commitment to practically implementing the new anti-corruption law, ensuring that democracy is meaningfully upheld across the nation.
