 කොළඹ වරාය පරිශ්‍රයේ සැකකටයුතු භාණ්ඩ අඩංගු කන්ටේනරයක් ඇති බවට ලද තොරතුරක් මත පොලිසිය පුළුල් විමර්ශනයක් ආරම්භ කර තිබේ.

මීට පෙර ද කොළඹ වරායේ බහාලුමක සඟවා තිබූ රුපියල් කෝටි අටසියයකට අධික වටිනාකමකින් යුත් අයිස් (ICE) මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය කිලෝග්‍රෑම් 472ක් සොයාගනු ලැබුවේ පොලිසියට ලද තොරතුරකට අනුවය.

Police Launch Major Investigation into Suspicious Container at Colombo Port

Authorities have initiated a comprehensive investigation following a tip-off regarding a container suspected of carrying illicit goods at the Colombo Port. The Colombo Central Criminal Investigation Department has taken charge of the inquiry, which includes reporting the findings to the Colombo Magistrate's Court.

Reports suggest that the investigation is linked to a consignment of counterfeit goods disguised as sugar, allegedly prepared for illegal transportation to India. The container is expected to be opened and examined as part of the ongoing probe.

This development comes on the heels of a previous incident at the Colombo Port, where law enforcement uncovered 472 kilograms of ICE drugs, valued at over 800 million rupees, hidden within a shipment based on similar intelligence received.
