පොලිස් පරීක්‍ෂණ යද්දී මාලිමා මන්ත‍්‍රී ඉල්ලා අස්වේ...

 යාපනය, වඩමරච්චි නිරිතදිග ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාවේ ජාතික ජන බලවේගය  පක්ෂය නියෝජනය කරන මන්ත්‍රීවරයෙකුට එරෙහිව එල්ල වූ චෝදනා රැසක් හේතුවෙන් ඔහු සිය මන්ත්‍රී ධුරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වී තිබේ.

චන්ද්‍රකුමාර් ගනේෂ් රූබන් නැමති මෙම මන්ත්‍රීවරයාට එරෙහිව චෝදනා එල්ල වී ඇත්තේ යාපනය නෙල්ලිඅඩි ප්‍රදේශයේ පදිංචි විශ්‍රාමික විදුහල්පතිවරයෙකුගේ නිවසට බලහත්කාරයෙන් ඇතුළු වී ඔහුට පහර දීම සහ එම නිවසට ගිනි තැබීමට උත්සාහ කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙනි.

සිද්ධිය අවස්ථාවේදී විශ්‍රාමික විදුහල්පතිවරයාගේ බිරිඳ බියට පත්ව කෑගැසීම නිසා මන්ත්‍රීවරයා ඇතුළු පිරිස එම ස්ථානයෙන් පලා ගොස් ඇති බව වාර්තා වේ.

සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් විමර්ශන ආරම්භ කළ නෙල්ලිඅඩි පොලිසිය, ප්‍රදේශයේ ස්ථාපිත කර තිබූ සී.සී.ටී.වී. (CCTV) කැමරා දර්ශන කිහිපයක් පරීක්ෂා කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව අදාළ මන්ත්‍රීවරයා හඳුනාගෙන තිබේ.

ඒ අනුව ඔහු පොලිසියට කැඳවා ප්‍රශ්න කර ඇති අතර, එහිදී අනාවරණය වූ තොරතුරු මත සිද්ධියට සම්බන්ධ තවත් සිව්දෙනෙකු අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට පොලිසිය පියවර ගෙන ඇත.

අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් මන්ත්‍රීවරයා ඇතුළු සැකකරුවන් පිරිස අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කරන තෙක් පොලිස් ඇප මත මුදා හැරීමට කටයුතු කර තිබේ.

මෙම සිදුවීමත් සමඟ මන්ත්‍රීවරයා සිය ධුරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වීමට තීරණය කර ඇත.

Yapahuwa Councillor Resigns Amid Assault Allegations

A councillor representing the National People's Power in the Vadamarachchi North Pradeshiya Sabha has stepped down from his position following a series of serious allegations against him.

The accusations against Chandra Kumar Ganesha Ruban stem from a violent incident in which he allegedly forcibly entered the home of a retired school principal in the Nelliyadi area of Jaffna, assaulted him, and attempted to set the property on fire.

Reports suggest that the retired principal's wife was so terrified during the incident that she suffered a seizure, prompting Ruban and his accomplices to flee the scene.

The Nelliyadi police initiated an investigation into the matter and have identified the implicated councillor through footage from several CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity.

As a result, he was summoned for questioning by the police, and information uncovered during the interrogation has led to the arrest of four other individuals connected to the incident.

The councillor, along with those apprehended, has since been temporarily released on police bail until being presented in court.

In light of these developments, the councillor has decided to resign from his post.
