 තලවකැලේ නගරයේ ප්‍රධාන පාසලක 13 වසරේ අධ්‍යාපනය ලබන සිසුවියකට ජංගම දුරකථනයෙන් අසභ්‍ය දර්ශන පෙන්වා එම පාසල් සිසුවියට අතවර කිරිමට තැත්කළේ යැයි කියන සිද්ධියක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් තලවකැලේ පොලිසිය මගින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් එම පාසලේ විද්‍යා ගුරුවරයා (28) දින නුවරඑළිය මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කිරිමෙන් අනතුරුව එම සැකකරු ලබන මස (06) දින දක්වා රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාර ගත කරන ලෙස මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරිය නියෝග කලහ.

මෙසේ රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාර ගත කරනු ලැබූවේ මහනුවර මැණික්හින්න ප්‍රදේශයේ පදිංචි යසස් කුලසිංහ නැමති 50 හැවිරිදි එම විදුහලේම විද්‍යා ගුරුවරයෙකු වශයෙන් සේවය කල අයෙකි.

සැකකරු විසින් පාසල් සිසුවියට විද්‍යාගාරයට පැමිනෙන ලෙස දැනුම් දි සිසුවිය විද්‍යාගාරයට පැමිණීමෙන් අනතුරුව ජංගම දුරකථනයේ තිබූ අසභ්‍ය දර්ශන සිසුවියට පෙන්වීමෙන් පසු සිසුවිය විද්‍යාගාරයෙන් පැන යාමට උත්සහ කිරිමේදි සැකකරු විසින් එම සිසුවියව අතෙන් අල්ලාගෙන අතවර කිරිමට තැත්කල බවත්, පසුව එම ගුරුවරයාගෙන් මිදි පලා ආ සිසුවිය ඒ පිලිබදව සිසුවිය සිය දෙමව්පියන් දැනුවත් කර ඇත.

සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් පාසල් සිසුවිය දෙමව්පියන් සමග පැමිණ තලවකැලේ පොලිසිය වෙත පැමිණිලි කිරිමෙන් පසු තලවකැලේ පොලිසිය විසින් සැකකරු අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත.

සැකකරු විවාහක පුද්ගලයෙකු බවත්, දැනට බිරිදගෙන් නිත්‍යානුකූලව වෙන්වී සිටින අයෙකු බවයි තලවකැලේ පොලිසිය කියා සිටියේ.

School Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Harassing Student in Talawakelle

A 28-year-old science teacher from a prominent school in Talawakelle has been taken into custody by local police following allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a 13-year-old female student. The incident, in which the teacher purportedly showed obscene images on his mobile phone to the student, has shocked the community.

Following the arrest, the teacher was presented to the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate's Court, where the magistrate ordered that he be remanded in custody until the 6th of next month.

The accused, Yasas Kulasinghe, a 50-year-old resident of the Mahanuwara region, has been employed as a science teacher at the same school where the incident occurred. Reports indicate that he called the student into a laboratory under the pretense of instruction and subsequently displayed inappropriate images on his phone. As she attempted to flee in distress, he allegedly tried to physically restrain her.

After escaping from the teacher's grasp, the student informed her parents about the incident, prompting them to file a formal complaint with the Talawakelle police.

The police confirmed that the suspect is a married man who is currently living separately from his wife.
