පවතින ආර්ථික තත්ත්වය හමුවේ ඉන්ධන ප්රවාහනය සඳහා ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාව (CPC) විසින් ගෙවනු ලබන මුදල ප්රමාණවත් නොවන බැවින්, ඊට සාධාරණ විසඳුමක් කඩිනමින් ලබා නොදුනහොත් ඉන්ධන බෙදාහැරීමේ කටයුතුවලින් සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම ඉවත් වන බව ඉන්ධන ප්රවාහන හා ටැංකි රථ හිමියන්ගේ සංගම් අනතුරු අඟවා සිටියි.
ලංකා ඉන්ධන ප්රවාහන සංගමය සහ සමස්ත ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් පෞද්ගලික ටැංකි රථ හිමියන්ගේ සංගමයේ නියෝජිතයන් පිරිසක්, පවතින ගැටලුවලට විසඳුම් ඉල්ලා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාවේ සභාපතිවරයා හමුවීම සඳහා කොළඹ පිහිටි ප්රධාන කාර්යාලයට පැමිණි අවස්ථාවේදී මාධ්ය වෙත මේ බව ප්රකාශ කර තිබේ.
එහිදී අදහස් දැක්වූ ලංකා ඉන්ධන ප්රවාහන සංගමයේ උප සභාපති සඳහන් කළේ, ප්රවාහන ගාස්තු සංශෝධනය කර සාධාරණ මුදලක් ලබාදෙන ලෙස ඉල්ලා වසරක පමණ කාලයක සිට බලධාරීන් ලිඛිතව දැනුවත් කළ ද මෙතෙක් ස්ථිර විසඳුමක් ලැබී නොමැති බවයි.
වර්තමානය වන විට ත්රිරෝද රථයකින් ලබන ආදායම පවා ඉන්ධන බවුසරයකින් උපයා ගැනීමට නොහැකි මට්ටමට තත්ත්වය බරපතළ වී ඇති බවත්, ඉවසීමේ සීමාව ඉක්මවා ගොස් ඇති පසුබිමක එළැඹෙන සිකුරාදා සභාපතිවරයා සමඟ පැවැත්වෙන සාකච්ඡාවේදී විසඳුමක් නොලැබුණහොත් ඉදිරි ක්රියාමාර්ග ගන්නා බවත් හෙතෙම අවධාරණය කළේය.
මේ අතර අදහස් දැක්වූ සමස්ත ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් පෞද්ගලික ටැංකි රථ හිමියන්ගේ සංගමයේ ලේකම් ඩී.වී. ශාන්ත සිල්වා මහතා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, ඉන්ධන ප්රවාහන මිල සූත්රය සංශෝධනය කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අවස්ථා පහ හයකදීම සාකච්ඡා කළ ද ප්රතිඵලයක් නොලද බවයි.
සිකුරාදා සාකච්ඡාවෙන් සාධාරණ තීන්දුවක් නොලැබුණහොත්, ඉන්ධන පිරවුම්හල් හිමියන් සහ ටැංකි රථ හිමියන් සියලු දෙනා එක්ව ඉන්ධන බෙදාහැරීමේ කටයුතුවලින් වහාම ඉවත් වන බව ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් කියා සිටියේය.

The economic crisis in Sri Lanka has caused significant concern in the fuel distribution sector, with the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) reportedly offering insufficient compensation for fuel transportation. Transport unions are warning that unless a fair resolution is swiftly implemented, they may be compelled to withdraw entirely from fuel distribution operations.
Representatives from the Lanka Fuel Transport Association and the All Ceylon Private Tanker Owners' Association expressed their grievances during a media briefing at the CPC's headquarters in Colombo. They sought a meeting with the chairman of the CPC to discuss solutions to the ongoing issues affecting their operations.
The vice-chairman of the Lanka Fuel Transport Association pointed out that despite having alerted authorities in writing to the need for a fair adjustment in transportation fees for nearly a year, a permanent solution has yet to materialize.
The situation has escalated to the point where even revenues from three-wheeler operations cannot cover the costs associated with fuel delivery, highlighting the severity of their predicament. He emphasized that if no resolution is reached in an upcoming meeting with the chairman on Friday, they would take further action.
Meanwhile, D.V. Shanta Silva, secretary of the All Ceylon Private Tanker Owners' Association, noted that despite discussions regarding the revision of transportation pricing frameworks, no tangible results have been achieved.
If a fair decision is not reached in Friday’s talks, Silva warned that all fuel filling station owners and tanker operators would unite and immediately cease fuel distribution activities.
