මේ අතර, ගතවූ පැය 24 ක කාලය තුළ දිවයිනේ වැඩිම වර්ෂාපතනය කෑගල්ල දිස්ත්රික්කයේ මාලිබොඩ ප්රදේශයෙන් වාර්තා වී ඇති අතර, එහි අගය මිලිමීටර් 104 කි.
ඊට අමතරව කළුපහන ප්රදේශයට මිලිමීටර් 95.5 ක්, මස්කෙළියට මිලිමීටර් 85.5 ක්, පොල්පිතිගමට මිලිමීටර් 85.0 ක් සහ රත්නපුර දම්මුල්ල ප්රදේශයට මිලිමීටර් 82.5 ක වර්ෂාපතනයක් වාර්තා වී තිබේ.
Severe Weather Alert: Heavy Rainfall Predicted Across Multiple Districts
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning indicating that several regions in the country may experience heavy rainfall exceeding 100 millimeters. In light of this forecast, the Disaster Management Centre urges immediate action to mitigate and manage any potential disaster situations.
According to the 'Amber' alert issued by the Center for Early Warning on Natural Disasters, areas in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North Western provinces, as well as parts of Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts, may face heavy downpours accompanied by thunderstorms.
In response to the unfavorable weather conditions, the Disaster Management Centre calls on all stakeholders to adhere to relevant advisories to manage emergencies that could arise, such as landslides and flooding.
The public is also advised to contact the emergency helpline '117' for further information on the current situation and immediate relief service needs. Continuous awareness of the announcements from the Meteorological Department is encouraged to stay informed.
Meanwhile, within the last 24 hours, Maliboda in the Kegalle District has reported the highest rainfall, measuring 104 millimeters. Other notable rainfall figures include 95.5 millimeters in Kalupahan, 85.5 millimeters in Maskeliya, 85.0 millimeters in Polpitigama, and 82.5 millimeters in the Ratnapura Damulla area.
