 ඉන්දීය ආරක්ෂක අමාත්‍ය රාජ්නාත් සිං මහතා මෙරට සංචාරයක නිරත වූයේ රජය ප්‍රකාශ කරන ආකාරයේ සරල හා සුළු ගිවිසුම් කිහිපයකට අත්සන් තැබීමට නොවන බවත්, රජය විසින් ජනතාවගෙන් වසන් කරන ලද සැබෑ ගිවිසුම් සහ එකඟතා මොනවාදැයි වහා හෙළි කළ යුතු බවත් පෙරටුගාමී සමාජවාදී පක්ෂයේ අධ්‍යාපන ලේකම් පුබුදු ජයගොඩ මහතා අවධාරණය කරයි.

කොළඹදී පැවති මාධ්‍ය හමුවකට එක්වෙමින් ඒ මහතා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, ඉන්දීය ආරක්ෂක අමාත්‍යවරයාගේ මෙම සංචාරයේදී ශිෂ්‍යභට පුහුණු හුවමාරුව, ආරක්ෂක විශ්වවිද්‍යාල සහයෝගීතාව සහ ඉන්දියාවෙන් ලබා දුන් අවි නඩත්තුව සම්බන්ධ ගිවිසුම් තුනක් අත්සන් කළ බවට රජය ප්‍රකාශ කළ ද, එවැනි සුළු ගිවිසුම් සාමාන්‍යයෙන් අමාත්‍යාංශ මට්ටමේ පහළ නිලධාරීන් විසින් අත්සන් කරනු ලබන ඒවා බවයි.

ඓතිහාසික පසුබිම සිහිපත් කරමින් ජයගොඩ මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, මීට පෙර ඉන්දීය ආරක්ෂක අමාත්‍යවරයෙකු අවසන් වරට මෙරටට පැමිණියේ මීට වසර 38කට පෙර, එනම් 1987 ඉන්දු-ලංකා ගිවිසුමෙන් පසු ඇති වූ දැඩි නොසන්සුන්කාරී වාතාවරණය හමුවේ 1988 වසරේදී එවකට ආරක්ෂක අමාත්‍යවරයාව සිටි කේ. සී. පාන්ත් (K. C. Pant) මහතා බවයි.

එබැවින් වසර 38කට පසුව ඉන්දීය ආරක්ෂක අමාත්‍යවරයෙකු මෙරටට පැමිණියේ පාසල් ළමුන්ගේ කැඩෙට් පුහුණුවක් හෝ තුවක්කු නඩත්තුවක් ගැන කතා කිරීමට යැයි පැවසීම බුද්ධිමත් කිසිවෙකුටත් පිළිගත නොහැකි බව හෙතෙම කියා සිටියේය.

එමෙන්ම, 2025 ජනවාරි මාසයේදී ජනාධිපතිවරයා ඉන්දියාවේ කළ සංචාරයේදී ඇතිකරගත් එකඟතා හෝ 2025 අප්‍රේල් 05 වනදා නරේන්ද්‍ර මෝදි අග්‍රාමාත්‍යවරයා මෙරටට පැමිණි අවස්ථාවේදී අත්සන් තැබූ ගිවිසුම් හතේ පිටපත් මෙතෙක් රටට හෙළිදරව් කර නොමැති බව ද ඔහු චෝදනා කළේය.

එකල අත්සන් කළ ආරක්ෂක සහයෝගීතා අවබෝධතා ගිවිසුම නිල නීතිමය ගිවිසුමක් බවට පත් කිරීම සඳහා සාකච්ඡා කිරීමට ඉන්දීය ආරක්ෂක අමාත්‍යවරයා මෙරටට පැමිණෙන බවට ඉන්දීය මාධ්‍ය වාර්තා කර තිබූ බව ද ඔහු පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

වත්මන් ආණ්ඩුව සියලු කටයුතු ජනතාවට හොරෙන් සිදුකරන බවට චෝදනා කළ පුබුදු ජයගොඩ මහතා, දෙරටේ රාජ්‍යයන් අතර සැබවින්ම සාකච්ඡා වූ කරුණු, ඇති කරගත් රහසිගත එකඟතා සහ අත්සන් තැබූ සැබෑ ගිවිසුම් මොනවාදැයි රට හමුවේ වහාම අනාවරණය කරන ලෙස රජයට දැඩිව බලකර සිටියේය.

Claims of Secrecy Surrounding Indian Defense Minister's Visit to Sri Lanka

During a recent media briefing, Pubudu Jayagoda, the Education Secretary of the Progressive Socialist Party, criticized the Sri Lankan government for the lack of transparency regarding agreements with India. He emphasized the need for the government to immediately disclose the real agreements and understandings established during Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh's visit, which he asserts were not simple and minor as previously stated.

Jayagoda pointed out that while the government announced the signing of three agreements related to student cadet training, defense university collaboration, and the maintenance of arms supplied by India, such agreements are typically signed by lower-ranking officials within ministries rather than at a high level.

Recalling historical context, he noted that the last visit by an Indian Defense Minister occurred 38 years ago, in 1988, during a period of significant unrest following the Indo-Lanka Accord in 1987, when then-Defense Minister K.C. Pant visited the country.

He expressed skepticism about the notion that a visit after such a long period should focus solely on discussions about cadet training or arms maintenance. Moreover, Jayagoda claimed that the agreements made during the President’s visit to India in January 2025 and those signed in April 2025 during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Sri Lanka had yet to be made public.

He also mentioned reports from Indian media suggesting that the Defense Minister might visit again to discuss formalizing the security cooperation agreements as legal treaties.

Jayagoda condemned the current government for allegedly conducting all negotiations in secret and urged them to disclose the real terms of discussions between the two nations, as well as any confidential agreements and signed contracts.
