 ශ්‍රී ලංකා නාවික හමුදාව සහ රක්නා ආරක්ෂක ලංකා සමාගම එක්ව පවත්වාගෙන ගිය සාගර ආරක්ෂණ සේවාවට ඇවන්ගාඩ් සමාගම ඈඳා ගැනීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ චෝදනා විමර්ශන කොමිෂන් සභාවට මෙන්ම අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට පැමිණිලි කිරීමට පොදු ව්‍යාපාර පිළිබඳ කාරක සභාව (කෝප් කමිටුව) තීරණය කර ඇත.

කෝප් කමිටු සභාපති වෛද්‍ය නිශාන්ත සමරවීර මහතා පෙන්වා දෙන්නේ, නාවික හමුදාව හා රක්නා ලංකා සමාගම සිදු කළ මෙම මුහුදු ආරක්ෂණ සේවා සැපයීමේ ක්‍රියාවලිය සඳහා ඇවන්ගාඩ් පෞද්ගලික සමාගම හවුල් කරගැනීම හේතුවෙන් රජයට විශාල මූල්‍යමය පාඩුවක් සිදුව ඇති බවයි.

රක්නා ආරක්ෂක ලංකා සමාගමේ ඉහළ නිලධාරීන් පසුගියදා කෝප් කමිටුව හමුවට කැඳවූ අවස්ථාවේදී මේ පිළිබඳව දීර්ඝ වශයෙන් විමසීමට ලක් විය.

එහිදී අදහස් දැක්වූ කෝප් කමිටු සාමාජික පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී දයාසිරි ජයසේකර මහතා, මුහුදු ආරක්ෂණ මෙහෙයුම් සඳහා ඇවන්ගාඩ් සමාගම සම්බන්ධ කරගනිමින් ගිවිසුම්ගත වූයේ කුමන පාර්ශ්වයක අවශ්‍යතාව මතද යන්න ප්‍රශ්න කර සිටියේය.

මෙම ගනුදෙනුවට අදාළව ඇවන්ගාඩ් සමාගම සමඟ ඇති සියලු ගිවිසුම් අවලංගු කිරීමට පියවර ගන්නා බව කෝප් සභාපතිවරයා මෙහිදී අවධාරණය කළේය.

එසේම, මෙම ක්‍රියාවලිය හරහා රජයට අහිමි වූ සමස්ත මුදල නැවත අයකර ගැනීමටත්, ඊට අනුබල දුන් සහ සහයෝගය දැක්වූ සියලු පාර්ශ්වයන්ට එරෙහිව නීතිමය පියවර ගැනීමටත් කටයුතු කරන බවද නිශාන්ත සමරවීර මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

Allegations of Corruption Lead to Investigations into Guard Services Deal with Avant-Garde

The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) has decided to file complaints with both the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption and the Criminal Investigation Department regarding the controversial maritime security services agreement between the Sri Lanka Navy, Rakna Lanka Security Services, and Avant-Garde Maritime Services.

Dr. Nishantha Samarawickrama, the chairman of COPE, emphasized that the involvement of Avant-Garde in the provision of these maritime security services has resulted in a significant financial loss to the government.

During a recent COPE meeting, senior officials from Rakna Lanka Security Services were summoned for extensive questioning regarding the matter. The inquiry aims to uncover the details surrounding the partnership with Avant-Garde and the implications it has for the state.

Member of Parliament Dayasiri Jayasekara raised critical concerns, questioning the rationale behind engaging Avant-Garde for maritime operations and highlighting the need for transparency in the decision-making process.

In response to the ongoing investigations, the COPE chairman underscored their commitment to nullifying all agreements with Avant-Garde linked to this transaction. Furthermore, he revealed plans to recover the total sum lost to the government and to take legal action against all parties involved in facilitating the agreement.
