දළදා කරඬුව මාරු කිරීම ගැන මා දැනුවත් නෑ..- පුරා විද්‍යා අධ්‍යක්‍ෂ ජනරාල්

මහනුවර ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාවේ දන්ත ධාතූන් වහන්සේ වැඩසිටින වසර දෙසීයකට වැඩි ඉතිහාසයක් ඇති රන් ආලේපිත කරඬුව වෙනුවට රත්තරන් පුරාවස්තුවක් වූ කරඬුවක් භාවිත කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් තමන්ට නිල වශයෙන් කිසිදු දැනුම් දීමක් කර නැතැයි පුරාවිද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජනරාල් සෙනරත් වික්‍රමසිංහ පැවැසීය.

මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් “අරුණ” පුවත්පත කළ විමසීමකදී අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජනරාල්වරයා පැවැසූයේ, 1940 පුරාවිද්‍යා ආඥා පනතට අනුව, දළඳා කරඬුව පුරාවස්තුවක් ලෙස නම් කර ඇති බවයි. එමෙන්ම දළදා මාලිගාව යුනෙස්කෝ සංවිධානය විසින් නම් කර ඇති ලෝක සංස්කෘතික උරුමවලින් එකකි.

එබැවින් මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් ගත යුතු ඉදිරි ක්‍රියාමාර්ග මොනවාද යන්න සම්බන්ධයෙන් අධ්‍යයනය කරමින් සිටින බවද අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජනරාල් සෙනරත් වික්‍රමසිංහ මෙහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් පැවැසීය.

දළදා වහන්සේ වැඩ සිටි රන් ආලේපිත කරඬුව වෙනුවට මුළුමනින්ම රත්තරන්වලින් සාදන ලද මෙම නව රන් කරඬුව පෞද්ගලික ධන පරිත්‍යාගයක් ලෙස පූජා කර ඇත. ඒ අනුව ඉදිරියේදී ශ්‍රී දන්ත ධාතූන් වහන්සේ ඇතුළු අවශේෂ පූජා භාණ්ඩ මෙම නව රන් කරඬුව තුළ තැන්පත් කිරීමට කටයුතු කරන බව බෞද්ධ කටයුතු කොමසාරිස් ආර්. එම්. ජී. සේනාරත්න මීට පෙර ප්‍රකාශ කර තිබිණි.

මේ අතර මෙතෙක් පැවැති රන් ආලේපිත කරඬුව ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාවේම විශේෂිත ස්ථානයක සුරක්ෂිතව තැන්පත් කිරීමට ද තීරණය වී ඇත. මෙය දෙවන විමලධර්මසූරිය රජ සමයේ නිර්මාණය කිරීමේ කටයුතු ආරම්භ කර, කීර්ති ශ්‍රී රාජසිංහ රජ සමයේ පූජා කෙරුණු කරඬුවක් බව ඓතිහාසික මූලාශ්‍රවල සඳහන් කර ඇත. මහනුවර යුගයට අයත් විශිෂ්ටතම රන්මය සහ රීදිමය කලාවන්, සාම්ප්‍රදායික කැටයම් මෙන්ම එකල පැවැති තාක්ෂණයද මෙම කරඬුවෙන් නිරූපිතය.

Director General Clarifies Use of Historical Throne at Sri Dalada Maligawa

The Director General of the Department of Archaeology, Senarath Vikramasinghe, has officially stated that he has not received any notification regarding the replacement of the gilded throne at the Sri Dalada Maligawa with a new throne made entirely of gold. Despite rumors circulating, he emphasized that the historic throne was designated as an archaeological relic as per the 1940 Archaeological Ordinance.

In an interview with the "Aruna" newspaper, Vikramasinghe pointed out that the revered Sri Dalada Maligawa is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, underscoring the significance of its artifacts.

He also mentioned that the department is currently studying the necessary steps to be taken regarding the throne’s future. This discussion comes in light of a new fully gold throne, which has been offered as a personal monetary donation for ceremonial purposes. Plans are underway to place the remaining sacred relics, including the Sacred Tooth Relic, within this new gold throne, as previously noted by the Buddhist Affairs Commissioner, R.M.G. Senarathna.

Additionally, it has been decided to securely house the former gilded throne in a designated area within the Sri Dalada Maligawa. Historic accounts indicate that this throne was initiated during the reign of King Vimaladharmasuriya II and was later utilized for rituals during King Kirti Sri Rajasinghe’s era. The throne is a representation of the exquisite gold and artistic craftsmanship of the Kandy period, embodying traditional techniques and aesthetics.
