සභා ගර්භය අමතමින් මන්ත්‍රීවරයා සඳහන් කළේ, අදාළ මන්ත්‍රීවරයාට එරෙහිව ජංගම දුරකතනයක් සහ කුඩා එළුවකු සොරකම් කිරීමේ චෝදනා මත 2022 වසරේදී යාපනය අතිරේක මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය හමුවේ නඩුවක් පැවති බවයි.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, ඔහු පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීවරයෙකු ලෙස තේරී පත්වීමෙන් පසු ප්‍රධාන සාක්ෂිකරුවන් අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් නොකර පොලිසිය මඟින් එම නඩුව ඉවත් කර ගැනීමට කටයුතු කර ඇති බවට හෙතෙම චෝදනා කළේය.

Allegations of Fraudulent Dismissal of Criminal Charges Against Northern Parliamentarian

In a striking revelation in Parliament, Medical Officer and Jaffna District Parliamentarian Ramadan Archuna has alleged the termination of a case concerning the theft of a mobile phone and a minor vegetable that was pending in court against a fellow parliamentarian since 2022. The claims surfaced following the ascendancy of a new government.

Archuna asserted that charges were presented before the Jaffna Magistrate's Court regarding the theft incident, which implicated the parliamentarian in question. However, since his election to Parliament, Archuna alleged that police have intentionally withheld key testimonies, thereby facilitating the dismissal of the case.

He expressed his willingness to provide evidence, including relevant court documents, before the Parliamentary Committee to substantiate his claims, emphasizing that his statements are based on verifiable truths stemming from legitimate court proceedings.

This assertion triggered a vehement backlash among fellow parliamentarians, who urged Archuna to refrain from making false statements that could tarnish the personal integrity of their colleagues. They called for an immediate apology, insisting that he should avoid leading the House astray.
