නව පාසල් වාරය ආරම්භ වීමත් සමග නුවරඑළිය ප්‍රදේශයේ පදිංචිකරුවන් තම යතුරුපැදිවලින් හිස්වැසුම් (හෙල්මට්) නොමැතිව පෙර පාසල් සහ පාසල් යන දරු දැරියන්ට නොමිලේ හිස්වැසුම් ලබා දීමේ වැඩසටහනක් (16) දින නුවරඑළිය පොලිසියේදි සිදු කෙරිණ.

පසුගිය දින කිහිපය තුල එසේ හිස්වැසුම් නොපැළද යතුරුපැදිවලින් ගමන් ගත් යතුරුපැදිකරුවන්ගේ නාම ලේඛණයක් නුවරඑළිය කොට්ඨාශ රථවාහන අංශයේ ස්ථානාධිපති ප්‍රධාන පොලිස් පරික්ෂක රෝෂන් කුරේ මහතා ඇතුලු එම රථවාහන අංශයේ නිළධාරින් විසින් රැගෙන එම යතුරුපැදිකරුවන්ගෙන් අඩු ආදායම් ලාභී පවුල්වල දරුදැරියන්ට අලියාන්ස් (ALLIANZ) සමාගමේ අනුග්‍රහයෙන් හිස්වැසුම් ලබා දීම සිදු කෙරිණ.

මෙම අවස්ථාවට එම ආයතනයේ නිළධාරින් රැසක් සහභාගි විය.

Free Helmets Distributed to School Children in Nuwara Eliya

As the new school term begins, residents of Nuwara Eliya are seeing a commendable initiative aimed at promoting safety. On the 16th, a program was launched by the Nuwara Eliya Police to provide free helmets to schoolchildren riding on motorcycles without headgear.

Over the past several days, law enforcement officials, including Chief Police Inspector Roshan Kurera from the Nuwara Eliya Motor Traffic Division, compiled a registry of motorcyclists who were found riding without helmets. The helmets were distributed to children from low-income families, facilitated by Allianz, a corporate sponsor.

The event saw participation from numerous officials from the sponsoring institution, highlighting a collaborative effort to enhance road safety in the community.
