 ධීවර කටයුතු පහසු කිරීම වෙනුවෙන් හඳුන්වා දී ඇති ජංගම දුරකථන යෙදුම පිළිබඳව විපක්ෂයේ දේශපාලනඥයන්ට නිසි අවබෝධයක් නොමැති බවත්, ළිං මැඩියන් මෙන් නොසිට තාක්ෂණික දියුණුව පිළිබඳව සොයා බලන ලෙස තමන් ඔවුන්ගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටින බවත් ධීවර, ජලජ හා සාගර සම්පත් නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය රත්න ගමගේ මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

SMS මගින් මාළු අල්ලන ස්ථාන දැනුම් දෙන බවට රජය ධීවරයන්ට ප්‍රකාශ කළ බව පවසමින් විපක්ෂය එල්ල කරන විවේචන සම්බන්ධයෙන් මාධ්‍යවේදීන් නැගූ ප්‍රශ්නයකට පිළිතුරු දෙමින් නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයා මේ බව සඳහන් කළේය.

එහිදී අදහස් දැක්වූ නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයා මෙසේද පැවසීය:

"ධීවරයන් වෙනුවෙන් එවැනි විශේෂිත ජංගම දුරකථන යෙදුමක් පවතිනවා. එහෙත් ළිං මැඩියන් සේ කටයුතු කරන විපක්ෂයේ ඇතැම් දේශපාලනඥයන් ඒ පිළිබඳව කිසිවක් දන්නේ නැහැ. ඒ නිසා ඔවුන්ට ළිඳෙන් එළියට පැමිණ ලෝකය දෙස බලන්න යැයි මා පවසනවා.

මෙම යෙදුම මේ වන විටත් මෙරට සැලකිය යුතු ධීවරයින් පිරිසක් සාර්ථකව භාවිත කරනවා. සාගර දියවැල්වල සහ තත්ත්වයන්ගේ සිදුවන වෙනස්කම් තත්පරයෙන් තත්පරයට යාවත්කාලීන නොවුණද, පැය කිහිපයකින් හෝ දින කිහිපයකින් සිදුවන වෙනස්කම් පිළිබඳ නිවැරදි දත්ත මෙමගින් ලබාගත හැකියි. මෙම තාක්ෂණය බොහෝ කාලයක සිට භාවිතයේ පවතින අතර, රජය නිරන්තරයෙන්ම නූතන තාක්ෂණය සමඟ ධීවර කර්මාන්තය ඉදිරියට ගෙන යාමට කටයුතු කරනවා. ඉදිරියේදී මීටත් වඩා නවීන පහසුකම් ධීවර ප්‍රජාව වෙත ලබාදීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වෙනවා." යැයි නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් කියා සිටියේය.

Government Launches Mobile App for Fishermen; Minister Calls for Political Awareness

The Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic Resources, and Coastal Conservation, Rathna Gamage, has urged opposition politicians to gain a proper understanding of the newly introduced mobile application designed to facilitate fishing operations, emphasizing the need for a forward-looking approach beyond traditional political practices.

Responding to criticisms from opposition members regarding the government's announcement of a system that alerts fishermen about fishing locations via SMS, the Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of the technological advances being implemented.

"There exists a specific mobile application for the benefit of fishermen. However, some politicians in the opposition are oblivious to its functionality. Therefore, I encourage them to step out from their narrow perspectives and look towards the world," Gamage stated during a media interaction.

He further elaborated that the application is already successfully utilized by a significant number of fishermen in the region. While it may not provide real-time updates on changes in sea conditions and tides every second, it offers accurate data on alterations that can occur over several hours or days. This technology has been in use for quite some time, and the government is continuously working to modernize the fishing industry. There are plans to provide even more advanced facilities to the fishing community in the future.
