 වෙනත් පාලනයක් පැවතියේ නම් මෙරට ඉන්ධන මිල රුපියල් 700 සීමාව දක්වා ඉහළ යා හැකිව තිබූ බවත්, වත්මන් රජය පාඩු විඳිමින් සිදු කරන දැවැන්ත කැපකිරීම් හේතුවෙන් ඉන්ධන මිල පාලනය කර තබා ගැනීමට හැකි වී ඇති බවත් නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය නාමල් කරුණාරත්න මහතා පවසයි.

අදහස් දක්වමින් නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයා සඳහන් කළේ, ඉදිරි අයවැය ලේඛනය මඟින් ජනතාව වෙත මීට පෙර නොවූ විරූ අන්දමේ සහන රැසක් ලබා දීමට රජය සූදානමින් සිටින බවයි.

ජනතාව මත පැටවී ඇති ආර්ථික බර ලිහිල් කෙරෙන ප්‍රායෝගික යෝජනා රැසක් සමඟ මෙවර අයවැය ඉදිරිපත් කරන බව හෙතෙම පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

රජය මහජනතාව වෙනුවෙන් සිදු කරන සහනාධාර මැදිහත්වීම් පිළිබඳව උදාහරණ දක්වමින් ඒ මහතා කියා සිටියේ, රුපියල් 17,000ක මුදලකට රජය මිලදී ගත් පොහොර මිටියක් ගොවි ජනතාව වෙත ලබා දුන්නේ රුපියල් 10,200ක සහනදායී මිලකට බවයි.

එවැනි දැවැන්ත මූල්‍ය කැපකිරීම් රැසක් සිදු කරමින්, රජය පාඩු විඳගෙන හෝ ජනතාවට සහන සැලසීමේ ප්‍රතිපත්තිය හේතුවෙන් ඉන්ධන මිල පවා පාලනය කරගනිමින් වත්මන් මට්ටමේ පවත්වාගෙන යාමට හැකි වී ඇති බව නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් අවධාරණය කළේය.

Fuel Prices in Sri Lanka Held Steady Amid Government Subsidies, Says Deputy Minister

Deputy Minister Namal Karunaratne revealed that under different circumstances, fuel prices could have surged to as high as 700 rupees. He attributed the current stabilization of fuel prices to substantial financial sacrifices made by the government, despite suffering operational losses.

Karunaratne emphasized that the upcoming budget will introduce unprecedented relief measures aimed at assisting the public. He expressed the government's commitment to ensuring that a range of practical proposals will alleviate the economic burdens faced by citizens.

Highlighting some of the government's support initiatives, he pointed out that a large consignment of fertilizer purchased at 17,000 rupees was provided to farmers at a subsidized rate of 10,200 rupees, illustrating the administration's efforts to support the agricultural sector.

The Deputy Minister further stressed that through extensive financial commitments, the government has managed to sustain current fuel prices despite ongoing operational losses, demonstrating a policy of prioritizing public welfare amidst economic challenges.
