මස්කෙළිය ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාවට අයත් ගලි ටැක්ටරයේ මලපහ අපද්‍රව්‍ය කාසල්රි ජලාශයට ජලය ගලා බසිනා දික්ඔය ඇලට මුදා හරිමින් සිටියදී එම බවුසරයේ රියදුරා සහ රිය සහයක හැටන් කොට්ඨාශ දූෂණ මර්දන ඒකකයේ නිලධාරීන් විසින් (01) සැකපිට අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත .

එම සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනා මස්කෙළිය ප්‍රදේශයෙන් මල පහ අපද්‍රව්‍ය ට්‍රැක්ටරයට පටවාගෙන  එය කාසල්රී ජලාශයට ජලය ගලා බසිනා ඇළ මාර්ගයට මුදා හරිමින් සිටියදී ඒ පිළිබඳව ප්‍රදේශවාසීන් විසින් ලබා දුන් තොරතුරක් මතයි සැකකරුවන් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත්තේ.

අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරුවන් හැටන් මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කරන බව හැටන් පොලිසිය පවසයි.

Two Arrested for Illegal Dumping of Waste in Maskeliya

Authorities have apprehended two individuals in Maskeliya for allegedly dumping waste from a tractor into the Kasalri reservoir, specifically into the flowing waters of the Malapaha channel. The arrests were made by officers from the Environmental Protection Unit of the Hatton police station.

Residents reported the activity to the police, leading to the intervention as the suspects were observed releasing the waste material sourced from the Maskeliya area into the water body.

Following the arrest, the suspects are set to be presented before the Hatton Magistrate's Court, as per police statements.
