බුද්ධ ශාසනයේ චිර පැවැත්ම සහ අභිවෘද්ධිය උදෙසා රජයේ පූර්ණ මැදිහත්වීම ලබා දෙන බව අමාත්‍ය මහාචාර්ය චන්දන අබයරත්න පවසයි.

 අමාත්‍යවරයා මේ බව පැවසූයේ  කුල දරුවන් 14 නමක් සසුන්ගත කිරීමේ මහෝත්සවය සහ පැවිදි බිමට පත් හිමිවරුන් පිළිගැනීමේ උත්සවය වඩත්ත කොට්ටුකච්චිය ශ්‍රී සරණංකර පිරිවෙන් විහාරස්ථානයේදී පැවති උත්සව අවස්ථාවට  [11] දින සහභාගී වෙමිනි. 

උත්සව සභාව අමතමින් අදහස් දැක්වූ අමාත්‍ය මහාචාර්ය චන්දන අබයරත්න මහතා වැඩි දුරටත් පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, 

අතීතයේ අපේ රට කොටස් දෙකක් හැටියට එනම් "ලෝක" සහ "ශාසන" ලෙස හඳුන්වා ඇති බවයි.

 රජෙක් හෝ රජයක් බලයට පත්වන්නේ ලෝකය සහ ශාසනය ආරක්ෂා කිරීමට බවත්, "ලෝක" යනු ජනතාවගේ ජීවන උපායන් වැඩි දියුණු කිරීම, වාරි කර්මාන්ත, මාර්ග, රෝහල් සහ අධ්‍යාපන කටයුතු වැනි ලෞකික කටයුතු වන අතර "ශාසන" යනු ශාසනික උන්නතිය සහ අභිවෘද්ධිය සඳහා සිදු කරන කටයුතු බවත් අමාත්‍යවරයා පැවසීය.

 අතීතයේ අපේ දේශීය සංස්කෘතියේ ප්‍රධාන අංග වූ එම දෙඅංශය ම ආරක්ෂා කරමින් බුද්ධ ශාසනයේ චිර පැවැත්ම සහතික වීම සඳහා වර්තමාන රජය නිරන්තරයෙන් මැදිහත් වන බව අමාත්‍යවරයා අවධාරණය කළේය. 

අවුරුදු 2500කට අධික කාලයක් තිස්සේ ලංකාවේ බුදු දහම මනාව ආරක්ෂා කරගෙන පැමිණි නිසා අපේ බෞද්ධ සංස්කෘතිය සහ සාරධර්ම පෝෂණය වූ බව සඳහන් කළ අමාත්‍යවරයා, මෙම මහා ශාසනික ක්‍රියාපටිපාටිය තවදුරටත් ඉදිරියට ගෙන යාමට රජය ගරු ජනාධිපතිතුමාගේ මැදිහත්වීම මත වැඩසටහන් කිහිපයක් ක්‍රියාත්මක කර ඇති බව කීය.

විශේෂයෙන්ම, කුඩා වියේදීම සසුනට පූජා කෙරෙන පොඩි හාමුදුරුවන් වහන්සේගේ දෙමව්පියන් වෙනුවෙන් නිවාස නැති ගැටළුවට විසඳුමක් ලෙස මේ වන විට යතිවර මාපිය නිවාස වැඩසටහන ආරම්භ කර ඇති බව අමාත්‍යවරයා ප්‍රකාශ කළේය. මෙම වර්ෂයේ නිවාස 1000ක් ඉදිකිරීම සඳහා ජනාධිපති ප්‍රතිපාදන වෙන් කර ඇති බවත් එහිදී අමාත්‍යවරයා සඳහන් කළේය. 

සසුන එක්වන පොඩි හාමුදුරුවන් වහන්සේට විහාරස්ථානයේ නිදහසේ අධ්‍යාපන කටයුතු කරගෙන යන අතරතුර තම දෙමව්පියන් ද සතුටින් ජීවත් වේ යැයි යන හැඟීම ශාසනය ආරක්ෂා කිරීමට මහත් රුකුලක් වන බව අමාත්‍යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දක්වමින් කියා සිටියේ ය. 

මෑතකදී ඇති වූ සුළි කුණාටුවෙන් විනාශ වුණු කොට්ටුකච්චිය ටැම්පිට විහාරයේ බෝධීන් වහන්සේගේ ශාඛාව වැටීමෙන් වූ හානිය පිළිසකර කිරීමට ලක්ෂ 8 කට ආසන්න මුදලක් වෙන් කර ඇති බවත්, පරමාකන්ද රාජමහා විහාරය සහ මුල්දේගම රාජමහා විහාරය ඇතුළු ජරාවාස වූ විහාරස්ථාන ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණයට ප්‍රතිපාදන වෙන් කර ඇති බවත් අමාත්‍යවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ ය.

 එමෙන්ම, 2027 සහ 2028 අයවැය ප්‍රතිපාදන මගින් කොට්ටුකච්චිය ශ්‍රී සරණංකර පිරිවෙනේ ඉදිකෙරෙමින් පවතින භික්ෂු නේවාසිකාගාර ගොඩනැගිල්ල නිම කරදීමට යෝජනා කර ඇති බවත්, පිරිවෙන් අධ්‍යාපනය නංවාලීම සඳහා විශේෂ  අධ්‍යාපන ක්‍රියාවලියක් යටතේ විශාල ප්‍රතිපාදන ප්‍රමාණයක් වෙන් කර ඇති බවත් අමාත්‍යවරයා සඳහන් කළේ ය.

 ආනමඩුව රාජ වන්නි කුමාරවන්නි දෙපළාතේ ප්‍රධාන අධිකරණ සංඝනායක, ශ්‍රී සරණංකර පිරිවෙනාහි විහාරාධිපති වඩත්තේ සෝමානන්ද නාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේගේ අනුශාසනා පරිදි,

අනුරාධපුර ඓතිහාසික රුවන්වැලි මහා සෑ මළුවේදී පසුගිය මාසයේ 25 වැනි දින මෙම කුල දරුවන් 14 නම සාමණේර භූමියට ඇතුළත් කරනු ලැබූ අතර, අනතුරුව උන්වහන්සේලා වැඩම කරවීම මෙම පිළිගැනීමේ උත්සවයේදී සිදු විය.

 මේ වන විට මෙම පිරිවෙන තුළ පැවිදි දිවියට එක්වූ සිසු ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේලා 100 කට අධික සංඛ්‍යාවක් අධ්‍යාපනය ලබමින් කටයුතු කරති.

Government Pledges Full Support for Sustaining Buddhism in Sri Lanka

The Minister of Buddha Sasana, Professor Chandana Abeyratne, has reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring the enduring presence and development of Buddhism in the country. This statement was made during a ceremonial event held at the Sri Saranankara Pirivena in Wadduwa, where 14 novice monks were officially ordained.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Abeyratne emphasized the historical significance of the dual concepts of "World" and "Sasana," indicating that previous eras recognized these two elements as foundational to the nation's identity. He articulated that the governance of a king or a kingdom is intrinsically linked to safeguarding both the worldly affairs—such as enhancing living standards, managing agriculture, developing public roads, hospitals, and educational initiatives—and the spiritual advancement of the Sasana.

Moreover, the minister highlighted the government's ongoing involvement in protecting these vital aspects of Sri Lankan heritage, reinforcing the significance of both worldly welfare and spiritual growth as cornerstones for ensuring the Buddha Sasana's longevity.

Reflecting on the resilience of Buddhism in Sri Lanka over the past 2,500 years, Minister Abeyratne pointed out the government's various initiatives aimed at advancing Buddhist activities, attributed to the intervention of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

As a notable step, the government has launched a housing program to address the living conditions of the parents of novice monks. This year, allocations have been made for the construction of 1,000 homes, as stated by the minister.

He underscored the importance of providing a stable environment for the young monks pursuing their education freely in temples, which he believes plays a crucial role in the safeguarding of the Sasana.

In the wake of recent adverse weather events, the minister disclosed that approximately 8 million rupees have been allocated for the restoration of damages inflicted upon the Bhodhi tree at the Tambligama Temple. He also noted that additional funding is being directed to restore several other historical temples, including the Paramakanda Rajamaha Viharaya and the Muldigama Rajamaha Viharaya.

Furthermore, proposals are in place to complete the construction of monk quarters at the Sri Saranankara Pirivena, with funding anticipated through the 2027 and 2028 budget allocations. Significant investments have also been earmarked for enhancing educational procedures within the Pirivena system.

Under the guidance of the Chief Monk, Venerable Somnanda Nayaka Thera, the ceremony celebrated the inclusion of the 14 novice monks into the monastic community at the historic Ruwanwelisaya in Anuradhapura on the 25th of last month. This event marked a pivotal moment in the young monks' spiritual journey.

Currently, over 100 students are engaged in their studies at the Pirivena, contributing to the vibrant continuation of Buddhist education and monastic life.
