නුවරඑළිය – මහනුවර ප්‍රධාන මාර්ගයේ ටොප් පාස් වත්ත ප්‍රදේශයේදී කන්ටේනර් රථයක් ශ්රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලයට අයත් බස් රථයක ගැටීමෙන් රිය අනතුරක් සිදුව තිබේ.
මෙම අනතුරින් කන්ටේනර් රථය විශාල වංගුවක් සහිත මාර්ග කොටසකදී පාලනයෙන් මිදී පිටුපසට ගමන් කිරීමත් සමඟ බස් රථයේ ගැටී ඇති බව සඳහන් වේ.
දැන්ටේනර් රථයේ තිරිංග පද්ධතිය නිසි ආකාරයේ ක්‍රියාත්මක වීමෙන් අනතුර වළක්වා ගැනීමට හැකිවූ නමුත් එලෙස සිදු නොවුනා නම් විශාල අනතුරක් සිදුවීමේ දැඩි අවදානමක් දක්නට ලැබිණ ,
අනතුර සිදුවන ආකාරය එම අවස්ථාවේ පිටුපසින් පැමිණි වෙනත් වාහනයක සවිකර තිබූ ඩෑෂ් කැමරාවේ සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම පටිගත වී තිබීම විශේෂත්වයකි.
අවදානම් සහිත වංගු රැසක් පවතින නුවරඑළිය – මහනුවර මාර්ගයේ බර වාහන ධාවනය කිරීමේදී රියදුරන් වැඩි අවධානයකින් හා දැඩි ප්‍රවේශමකින් කටයුතු කිරීමේ අවශ්‍යතාව මෙම අනතුර යළිත් අවධාරණය කරයි.

Collision on Nuwara Eliya Main Road Involves Container Truck and Sri Lanka Transport Board Bus
A traffic accident occurred in the Top Pass area of the Nuwara Eliya Main Road, involving a container truck and a bus belonging to the Sri Lanka Transport Board.
The incident took place when the container truck lost control while navigating a sharp bend, subsequently colliding with the bus as it was traveling along the same stretch of road.
It has been reported that the accident was narrowly avoided due to the truck's braking system functioning correctly. If it had malfunctioned, a catastrophic accident could have resulted.
Remarkably, the events leading up to the accident were fully recorded by a dashboard camera installed in another vehicle that was approaching from behind at the time.
This incident underscores the necessity for heightened caution among drivers, especially when navigating the Nuwara Eliya - Mahanuwara road, which is notorious for its hazardous turns and heavy vehicle traffic.
The Nuwara Eliya police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
