මහා වැසි එනවා..

ගිනිකොණ දිග බෙංගාල බොක්ක මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශය ආශ්‍රිතව මේ වන විට පවතින පහළ වායුගෝලීය කැළඹිලි ස්වභාවය (Low-level atmospheric disturbance), 13 දින වන විට අඩු පීඩන කලාපයක් (Low Pressure area) දක්වා වර්ධනය වීමේ හැකියාව පවතී. 

මෙම පද්ධතියේ බලපෑම හේතුවෙන්, දිවයිනේ සහ දිවයින වටා වන ගැඹුරු සහ නොගැඹුරු මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශවල වැසි තත්ත්වයේ වැඩි වීමක් 13 සිට ඉදිරි දින කිහිපයේදී බලාපොරොත්තුවේ.

මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් කාලගුණ විද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් නිකුත් කරනු ලබන ඉදිරි අනාවැකි සහ නිවේදන පිළිබඳව අවධානයෙන් පසුවන ලෙස ධීවර සහ නාවුක ප්‍රජාව ඇතුළු මහජනතාවගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටිනු ලැබේ.

13 දිනයේදී දිවයිනේ බොහෝ ප්‍රදේශවල වැසි හෝ ගිගුරුම් සහිත වැසි ඇති අපේක්ෂා කරන අතර, මධ්‍යම, සබරගමුව, ඌව සහ දකුණු පළාත්වල ඇතැම් ස්ථානවලට මි.මී. (100-150) ක පමණ තද වැසි ඇති විය හැක. 

දිවයිනේ සෙසු ප්‍රදේශවල ඇතැම් ස්ථාන වලට මි.මි. 75 ට වැඩි තරමක තද වැසි ඇති විය හැක. 

විශේෂයෙන් කඳුකර ප්‍රදේශ ආශ්‍රිතව ඇති විය හැකි නායයෑම් මෙන්ම, තද වැසි සමග ඇති විය හැකි ක්ෂණික ගංවතුර තත්ත්වයන් පිළිබඳව අවධානයෙන් සිටීම වැදගත් වේ. 

ගිගුරුම් සහිත වැසි සමග ඇතිවිය හැකි තාවකාලික තද සුළං වලින් සහ අකුණු මඟින් සිදු වන අනතුරු අවම කර ගැනීමට අවශ්‍ය පියවර ගන්නා ලෙස ජනතාවගෙන් කාරුණිකව ඉල්ලා සිටිනු ලැබේ.

Potential Low-Pressure System to Develop Over Bay of Bengal, Heavy Rainfall Expected

A low-level atmospheric disturbance near the Bay of Bengal is predicted to strengthen into a low-pressure area by the 13th of this month. This system is likely to increase rainfall across the island and surrounding oceanic regions in the coming days.

As a result of this weather pattern, the Meteorology Department anticipates significant rain, possibly enhanced by thunderstorms, starting on the 13th. Certain areas in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and Southern provinces could experience heavy downpours of 100 to 150 millimeters.

Other regions of the island may also see rainfall exceeding 75 millimeters. It is particularly important for residents in hilly areas to remain vigilant about possible landslides and flash flooding that may accompany the heavy rains.

The public, including fishing and maritime communities, is urged to pay close attention to forthcoming forecasts and advisories issued by the Meteorology Department. Precautionary measures are advised to mitigate potential dangers caused by strong winds and lightning associated with thunderstorms.
