නුවරඑළිය නානුඔය බ්ලැක්ෆූල් ප්දේශයේ ගාල් කර තිබූ වෑන් රථයක් පැහැර ගනිමින් සිටි සැකකරුවෙකු නානුඔය පොලිසිය විසින් (30) දින රාත්‍රීයේ සැකපිට අතඅඩංගුවයට ගෙන ඇත.
සැකකරු තවත් පිරිසක් සමග පැමිණ නිවසක් අසළ මාර්ගයේ ගාල් කර තිබූ වෑන් රථය පැහැර ගෙන යන බවට වෑන් රථයේ අයිතිකරු විසින් නානුඔය පොලිසිය වෙත කල දැනුම්දිමක් මත වාහා ක්‍රියාත්මක වූ නානුඔය පොලිසියේ නිළධාරින් මෙහෙයුමක් දියත්කර නානුඔය ප්‍රදේශයේදිම වෑන් ථය සහ රියදුරු අත්අඩංගුවටව ගෙන ඇත.
එම වෑන් රථයේ සිටි සෙසු සැකකරුවන් පලා ගිය බවයි නානුඔය පොලිසියේ නිළධාරින් කියා සිටියේ.
වෑන් රථය අයිතිකරු විසින් වෑන් රථය මිලදි ගැනීමට මුදල් ලබා ගෙන ගිවිසුම් ගත වූ පෞද්ගලික මූල්‍ය ආයතනයක වාරික ගෙවිම ප්‍රමාද කල නිසා මූල්‍ය සමාගමේ උපදෙස් මත (සිසර්) සැකකරුවන් විසින් මෙම වැන් රථය පැහැර ගෙන යමින් සිට ඇති බවයි සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් පරික්ෂණ පවත්වන නානුඔය පොලිසියේ නිළධාරින් කියා සිටියේ.
වෑන් රථයේ අයිතිකරුට නොදන්වා පොලිසිය වෙත දැනුම්දිමක් නොකර මුල්‍ය සමාගම් තැරැව්කරුවන්ට මෙසේ වාහන පැහැරගෙන යෑමට නොහැකි බව පොලිිස්පතිවරයා විසින් චක්‍ර ලේඛණයක් නිකුතු කර ඇති බවද එම නිළධාරියා පැවසීය.
අතඅඩංගුවට ගත සැකකරු නුවරඑළිය මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කරන බවත්, සෙසු සැකකරුවන් අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට විමර්ෂණ ආරම්භ කරන බවයි නානුඔය පොලිසියේ නිළධාරියා වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසිය.

Robbery Incident: Suspect Arrested in Nuwara Eliya
A suspect in the theft of a van from the Blackpool area of Nuwara Eliya was apprehended by local police on the night of the 30th. The van's owner alerted the authorities, leading to a swift response from law enforcement.
The suspect, along with accomplices, was reported to be taking the stolen vehicle from a roadside near the owner’s residence. Acting on the tip-off, officers from the Nuwara Eliya Police launched operations, successfully seizing the van and apprehending the driver.
According to police officials, other suspects managed to escape the scene. It has been revealed that the van was taken due to the owner’s failure to make timely payments to a private financial institution, prompting the company to act on directives to retrieve the vehicle.
Police have underscored the importance of notifying them before any repossession action is undertaken by financial companies to prevent such incidents. According to an official statement, such unauthorized vehicle seizures are prohibited without proper communication.
The apprehended suspect is expected to be presented before the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate’s Court, with investigations ongoing to locate the remaining suspects, as stated by the police spokesperson.
