සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් සැකපිට අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් 50 හැවිරිදි පුත්‍රයාගෙන් සිදුකළ මූලික ප්‍රශ්න කිරීම්වලදී හෙළිව ඇත්තේ, ඔහු දීර්ඝ කාලයක සිට මන්ද මානසික රෝගී තත්ත්වයකින් පෙළෙන අයෙකු බවයි.

Son Arrested for Allegedly Murdering His 76-Year-Old Mother in Horrific Act
A 50-year-old man has been apprehended by the police in Meegahatenna for the brutal murder of his elderly mother, whose hands had been bound together before her body was dumped into a dangerous, unguarded well near their home.
The victim, identified as 76-year-old Nandavathi Dawatagé, was a resident of the Palawatta West Southern Grama Seva Division, located within the Meegahatenna police jurisdiction. This tragic event unfolded, shocking the local community.
On the evening of the 18th, authorities, responding to an urgent tip-off, arrived at the scene. They discovered the woman's lifeless body at the bottom of a well approximately 20 feet deep. Preliminary investigations revealed that her hands had been tightly bound together prior to her death.
During initial questioning, the son, who is suspected of the crime, disclosed that he has been suffering from severe mental health issues for an extended period. This revelation raises troubling questions about the circumstances surrounding the murder.
The body of the deceased will undergo a magistrate’s inquiry and a post-mortem examination. The police have confirmed that steps are being taken to present the suspect in court and to arrange for a mental health evaluation.
