Two Trishaws with Same Registration Number Seized in Nuwara Eliya
Nuwara Eliya's Crime Investigation Division has successfully apprehended two trishaws sharing an identical registration number, along with their owners.
These trishaws were located in the Ragala and Nuwara Eliya Shantinagar areas, with one of them being used for hired transportation purposes in Shantinagar.
The second trishaw was discovered hidden in a house in the Ragala region. According to officials, both suspects involved are relatives, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the operation of the vehicles.
In light of the irregularities associated with the identical registration numbers, steps are being taken to investigate the engine and chassis numbers of both trishaws. This initiative is undertaken with the guidance of Deputy Inspector General Jagath Chandrakumara and Senior Superintendent of Police Chandrashekar Bandara, in collaboration with the Nuwara Eliya district's chief motor vehicle examiner.
