කතානායකට විශ්වාසභංගයක්...

 කථානායක වෛද්‍ය ජගත් වික්‍රමරත්න මහතාට එරෙහිව ගෙන ඒමට නියමිත විශ්වාසභංග යෝජනාව සඳහා අත්සන් ලබාගැනීමේ කටයුතු අද ආරම්භ කරන බව සමගි ජන බලවේගයේ පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී, නීතිඥ දයාසිරි ජයසේකර මහතා පවසයි.

අදාළ විශ්වාසභංග යෝජනාව හෙට පාර්ලිමේන්තු මහ ලේකම්වරිය වෙත නිල වශයෙන් භාරදීමට නියමිත බව ද මන්ත්‍රීවරයා සඳහන් කළේය.

කථානායකවරයාට එරෙහිව මෙම යෝජනාව ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට සමගි ජන බලවේගයේ මන්ත්‍රී කණ්ඩායම පසුගියදා තීරණය කර තිබූ අතර, ඊට විපක්ෂයේ සියලුම දේශපාලන පක්ෂ මේ වන විටත් සිය පූර්ණ එකඟතාව පළ කර ඇත.

කථානායකවරයාගේ ක්‍රියාකලාපය ප්‍රශ්න කරමින් ගොනු කර ඇති මෙම යෝජනාව සඳහා චෝදනා පනහකට ආසන්න සංඛ්‍යාවක් ඇතුළත් කර ඇති බව සමගි ජන බලවේගය සඳහන් කරයි.

පාර්ලිමේන්තු ආරංචි මාර්ග පෙන්වා දෙන්නේ, මෙරට පාර්ලිමේන්තු ඉතිහාසයේ කථානායකවරයෙකුට එරෙහි විශ්වාසභංග යෝජනාවකට වැඩිම චෝදනා සංඛ්‍යාවක් ඇතුළත් කෙරෙන ප්‍රථම අවස්ථාව මෙය වන බවයි.

මෙම විශ්වාසභංග යෝජනාව භාරදීමෙන් අනතුරුව, ඒ පිළිබඳ විවාදය දින දෙකක් පුරා පැවැත්වීමට කටයුතු සලසන ලෙස පාර්ලිමේන්තු කටයුතු පිළිබඳ කාරක සභාව හමුවේ ඉල්ලීමක් කිරීමට විපක්ෂය බලාපොරොත්තු වේ.

Motion of No Confidence Against Speaker Jagath Misra Vikramarathna to Begin Collection of Signatures

Today marks the commencement of the signature collection for the proposed no-confidence motion against Speaker Jagath Misra Vikramarathna, as confirmed by Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian and attorney-at-law Dayasiri Jayasekara.

The intention is to officially submit the completed motion to the Parliamentary Secretary-General tomorrow, he added.

The decision to present this no-confidence motion was made by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya parliamentary group earlier this week, with all opposition political parties expressing their full agreement at this stage.

The proposed motion, citing various allegations against the Speaker's activities, reportedly contains close to fifty distinct charges, according to the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.

Parliamentary sources indicate that this marks the first time in Sri Lankan parliamentary history that a no-confidence motion against a Speaker will include such a high number of allegations.

Following the submission of this motion, the opposition expects to request the Parliamentary Business Committee to facilitate a two-day debate on the matter.
