විහාරමහාදේවී විරෝධතා පුවරුවලට නගර සභාවෙන් බදු මුදල් ඉල්ලයි... උණුසුම් තත්වයක්..

 

බන්ධනාගාරගත කර සිටින පූජ්‍ය ගලගොඩඅත්තේ ඥානසාර හිමියන් කොන්දේසි විරහිතව නිදහස් කරන ලෙස බලකරමින් කොළඹ විහාරමහාදේවි උද්‍යාන පරිශ්‍රයේ ක්‍රියාත්මක වන අඛණ්ඩ සත්‍යග්‍රහ භූමිය තුළ නොසන්සුන්කාරී තත්ත්වයක් හටගෙන තිබේ.

සත්‍යග්‍රහයේ නිරත හිමිවරුන් විසින් එම පරිශ්‍රයේ සවිකර තිබූ ප්‍රදර්ශන පුවරු සහ බැනර් ඉවත් කිරීමට කොළඹ මහ නගර සභාවේ නිලධාරීන් කටයුතු කිරීම මෙම නොසන්සුන්තාවට මූලික හේතුව වී ඇත. 

විහාරමහාදේවි උද්‍යානය භාර නිලධාරීන් එහි පැමිණ දැනුම් දී ඇත්තේ, අනවසරයෙන් ප්‍රදර්ශනය කර ඇති එම පුවරු වහාම ඉවත් කරගන්නා ලෙසත්, එසේ නොකරන්නේ නම් සාමාන්‍ය වෙළඳ සන්නාම අලෙවිකරණ කටයුතුවලදී අනුගමනය කරන ක්‍රමවේදයට යටත්ව නගර සභාව වෙත මුදල් ගෙවා නිසි අවසරයක් ලබාගත යුතු බවත්ය.

නොමිලේ බැනර් ප්‍රදර්ශනය කළ නොහැකි බව පවසමින් නගර සභා නිලධාරීන් මුදල් ඉල්ලා සිටීමත් සමඟ දෙපාර්ශ්වය අතර දැඩි මතගැටුමක් හටගත් අතර, මුදල් ගෙවීම මෙන්ම බැනර් ඉවත් කරගැනීම ද භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලා විසින් ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කරනු ලැබිණි. 

අනතුරුව ඇති වූ එකඟතාවක් නොමැති තත්ත්වය හමුවේ උද්‍යාන භාර නිලධාරීන් විසින් අදාළ බැනර් ගලවා දැමීමට පියවර ගත් නමුත්, ඊට එරෙහිව නැගී සිටි භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලා සහ සත්‍යග්‍රහයට එක්ව සිටි ගිහි පිරිස් එක්ව, ගලවා ඉවත් කළ බැනර් සහ පුවරු යළිත් එම ස්ථානයේම සවිකිරීමට පියවර ගත්හ.

සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දැක්වූ සත්‍යග්‍රහයේ නිරත පූජ්‍ය බලංගොඩ කස්සප හිමියන් සඳහන් කළේ, භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලා සහ සිවිල් ජනතාව සාමකාමීව විවේකීව සිටි අවස්ථාවක කොළඹ නගරාධිපතිවරයාගේ සහ නාගරික කොමසාරිස්වරයාගේ නියෝජිතයන් යැයි කියාගත් පිරිසක් පැමිණ මෙම බාධා කිරීම සිදුකළ බවයි. 

එම ස්ථානයට පැමිණි පිරිසගෙන් නීතිඥවරුන් සහ ක්‍රියාකාරීන් අනන්‍යතාව විමසූ අවස්ථාවේදී එය තහවුරු කිරීමට ඔවුන් අපොහොසත් වූ බවත්, ඔවුන් සත්‍යග්‍රහය කඩාකප්පල් කිරීමට පැමිණි පිරිසක් බවත් උන්වහන්සේ චෝදනා කළහ.

ආණ්ඩුක්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථාවේ 9 වැනි වගන්තිය ප්‍රකාරව බුද්ධාගමට ප්‍රමුඛස්ථානය ලබාදීම සහ බුද්ධ ශාසනය සුරක්ෂිත කිරීම රජයේ වගකීමක් බව පෙන්වා දුන් කස්සප හිමියෝ, සත්‍යග්‍රහ භූමිය තුළ සිවුරු මැසීම සහ පඩු පෙවීම වැනි සාසනික ක්‍රියාවන් සිදුකරන බැවින් ඊට බාධා කිරීමට නගර සභාවට කිසිදු අයිතියක් නොමැති බවත්, ව්‍යවස්ථාව උල්ලංඝනය කරමින් බලපෑම් කිරීමට උත්සාහ කරන්නේ නම් ඊට එරෙහිව නීතිමය පියවර ගන්නා බවත් අවධාරණය කළහ. 

කිසිදු බලපෑමකින් හෝ මැර ක්‍රියාවකින් මෙම අඛණ්ඩ සත්‍යග්‍රහය නැවැත්විය නොහැකි බව ද උන්වහන්සේ වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කර සිටියහ.

Peaceful Protesters Demand Release of Sudden Arrested Buddhist Monk

A tense situation has erupted at the continuous truth demonstration site in the Viharamahadevi Park, Colombo, as protesters advocate for the unconditional release of imprisoned Buddhist monk Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero. The atmosphere turned contentious following actions taken by local authorities to remove display boards and banners set up by the demonstrators.

Officials responsible for Viharamahadevi Park appeared on site to issue a warning, instructing the immediate removal of the protesters' unauthorized displays. They further stated that should the banners remain, the city council would require compensation, especially as it relates to permissible commercial signage regulations.

The demand by city officials for financial payments led to significant confrontations between both sides. The monks firmly rejected the requests for money and insisted on the removal of the banners, exacerbating tensions further.

Unable to reach an agreement, park authorities commenced the removal of the banners. In response, the protesting monks and supporting groups rallied together to re-install the removed signage.

Balanagoda Kassapa Thero, a prominent figure among the protesters, voiced concerns about the incident, claiming that representatives of the Colombo Mayor and Municipal Commissioner had disrupted their peaceful gathering while tensions were high. He noted that the group sent to intervene had failed to properly identify themselves as legal representatives.

Citing the constitutional provisions that prioritize Buddhism and safeguarding the Buddha Sasana, the monk emphasized that the city council had no authority to obstruct ceremonial acts such as offering alms and conducting rituals within the truth demonstration site. He asserted that any attempts to exert pressure would be met with legal action.

Furthermore, he firmly stated that this continuous truth demonstration could not be halted by any intimidation or violent actions from authorities.
