 හැටන් නගරයට මේ දිනවල පැමිණ සිටින ඉන්දියානු ජාතිකයන් කිහිප දෙනෙකු හැටන් නගරයේ වෙළදසැල් වලට ගොස් එම වෙළදසැල්වල සිටින අයකැමිව රවටා වංචනික ලෙස මුදල් ලබා ගන්නා ජාවාරමක් ක්‍රියාත්මක වන බව හැටන් නගරයේ ව්‍යාපාරිකයින් කියා සිටියි.

වෙළදසැල්වලට පැමිණෙන එම විදේශිකයා වෙළදසැලෙන් භාණ්ඩ ලබාගෙන ඒ සදහා රු.5000ක නෝට්ටුවක් ලබා දී එහි ඉතිරි මුදල් අයකැමි විසින් ලබා දෙන අවස්ථාවේ එම විදේශිකයා තමන් දුන් රු.5000 නෝට්ටුව යලිත් ලබා ගෙන අයකැමිගේ අවධානය වෙනත් දිසාවකට යොමු කර පසුව එම රු.5000 සහ එම රු.5000සේ ඉතිරි මුදල් රැගෙන යන අයුරු එම වෙළදසැල්වල සවි කර තිබූ ආරක්ෂිත කැමරාවල සටහන් වී තිබුණි.

අයකැමි විසින් මුදල් භාර දීම සදහා මුදල් ගණනය කිරිමේදි රු.5000ක මුදලක් අඩු වී තිබිම හේතුවෙන් එම වෙළදසැලේ ආරක්ෂිත කැමරා දර්ශන පටිගත කිරිමේදි මෙම වංචාව හෙළිදරව් වී ඇත.

හැටන් නගරයේ මෙසේ මුදල් වංචා සහගත ලබා ගන්නා පුද්ගලයා පිලිබද සැලකිලිමත්ව සිටින ලෙස හැටන් නගරයේ වෙළද සංගමය ව්‍යාපාරික ප්‍රජාවගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටියි.

Fraud Alert as Foreign Nationals Target Shops in Hettan

Business owners in Hettan are raising concerns over a scam involving foreign nationals who have recently arrived in the area. Reports indicate that these individuals are exploiting local shops, deceiving staff to illegally obtain money.

Typically, a foreign customer will present a Rs. 5,000 note when purchasing items. As the shopkeeper hands back the change, the fraudster draws attention away, only to return to reclaim the Rs. 5,000 note, all while absconding with the shopkeeper’s change. Surveillance footage from local shops has captured this deceptive maneuver in action.

Crucially, the scam came to light when shopkeepers noticed discrepancies in cash totals, revealing that a Rs. 5,000 note was missing after the transaction was completed, prompting a review of the security camera footage.

In response to these incidents, the Hettan Business Association is urging local retailers to remain vigilant and cautious regarding suspicious activities involving cash transactions.
