Energy Minister Urges Public to Avoid Hoarding Fuel Amidst Rumors

In response to growing concerns over unfounded rumors circulating on social media, Energy Minister Anura Yapa Karunatilaka has called on the public to refrain from unnecessary hoarding of fuel. He emphasized that such panic-driven behavior could exacerbate the already challenging situation in the country.

The Minister highlighted that irresponsible actions could lead to a further escalation of the current issues surrounding fuel supply. He urged consumers to purchase fuel only as needed for their daily requirements, stressing the importance of measured consumption during these turbulent times.

Assuring the public that the Lanka Mineral Oil Corporation has the capacity to maintain a steady fuel supply until the ongoing crisis is resolved, Karunatilaka affirmed that the government will not allow any fuel shortages to occur. He encouraged citizens to remain calm and avoid panic buying, which could disrupt the supply chain even further.
