අධිකරණය මඟින් විවෘත වරෙන්තු නිකුත් කර සිටින හිටපු අමාත්‍ය බැසිල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා ඇමෙරිකා එක්සත් ජනපදයේ සිට කඩිනමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට ගෙන්වා ගැනීම සඳහා ජාත්‍යන්තර මට්ටමෙන් ගත යුතු නීතිමය ක්‍රියාමාර්ග රජය විසින් මේ වන විටත් ආරම්භ කර ඇත.
මේ පිළිබඳව ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොලිසිය විසින් ජාත්‍යන්තර පොලිසිය දැනුවත් කර ඇති අතර, බැසිල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතාට එරෙහිව රතු නිවේදනයක් ක්‍රියාත්මක වීම හේතුවෙන් ඔහුට ඇමෙරිකාවේ සිට වෙනත් කිසිදු රටකට යාමට නොහැක.
රාජ්‍ය අරමුදල් අයථා ලෙස පරිහරණය කිරීම සහ මූල්‍ය අක්‍රමිකතා සම්බන්ධයෙන් වන විමර්ශනවලට අදාළව බැසිල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා දිගින් දිගටම අධිකරණය මඟහරිමින් සිටි පසුබිමක, කොටුව මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය විසින් පසුගියදා ඔහු අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමේ විවෘත වරෙන්තුවක් සහ ජාත්‍යන්තර පොලිසිය හරහා රතු නිවේදනයක් ලබාගැනීමට අවශ්‍ය නියෝග නිකුත් කෙරිණි.
ඇමෙරිකානු ද්විත්ව පුරවැසිභාවය හිමි බැසිල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා මෙරටට උදර්පනය කර ගෙන්වා ගැනීම සඳහා දෙරට අතර පවතින නීතිමය සම්මුතීන්ට අනුව අදාළ නීතිමය ලියකියවිලි එරට අධිකරණය සහ රාජ්‍ය දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නීතිපති දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව සහ විදේශ කටයුතු අමාත්‍යාංශය හරහා කටයුතු සූදානම් කෙරෙමින් පවතින බව ද රජයේ ආරංචි මාර්ග වැඩිදුරටත් තහවුරු කරයි
Legal Actions Initiated to Repatriate Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa from the U.S.
The Sri Lankan government has commenced international legal measures to expedite the repatriation of former Minister Basil Rajapaksa, currently residing in the United States, following the issuance of an open warrant by the court.
The Sri Lanka Police have informed Interpol about the situation, and a Red Notice against Rajapaksa prevents him from traveling to any other country from the U.S.
Rajapaksa has been evading judicial proceedings concerning allegations of misappropriation of state funds and financial irregularities. Recently, the Colombo Magistrate's Court issued an open warrant for his arrest and mandated the acquisition of a Red Notice through Interpol.
As a dual U.S.-Sri Lankan citizen, Rajapaksa's repatriation will adhere to legal agreements between the two countries. The Attorney General's Department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are reportedly preparing the necessary legal documents to submit to the U.S. courts and the State Department for his extradition.
