Electricity Distribution Lanka Enables Online Checks for Solar Panel Capacity
Electricity Distribution Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. has launched a new initiative allowing customers to verify the Transformer Capacity Availability from the comfort of their homes before applying for solar panels. This service seeks to alleviate the inconvenience caused by previous requirements that only allowed customers to learn about the capacity of nearby transformers after submitting an application.
Previously, applicants often faced significant challenges due to the lack of upfront knowledge regarding whether the transformer located near their residence had sufficient electrical capacity for solar panel installation. With new directives from the Ministry of Power, the company, which is a subsidiary of the Ceylon Electricity Board, has streamlined the process by enabling online consultations regarding transformer capacities.
This online service provides an efficient solution, allowing customers to check whether adequate electrical capacity is available for installing solar panels adjacent to their homes before even filing an application.
