රත්න ශ‍්‍රී විජේසිංහ ඉල්ලා අස්වේ..

ජාතික පුස්තකාල හා ප්‍රලේඛන සේවා මණ්ඩලයේ සභාපති ලෙස කටයුතු කළ ප්‍රවීණ සාහිත්‍යවේදී රත්න ශ්‍රී විජේසිංහ මහතා එම ධුරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වී තිබේ.

ඔහු සිය ඉල්ලා අස්වීමේ ලිපිය දැනටමත් බලධාරීන් වෙත යොමු කර ඇති අතර, එම ඉල්ලා අස්වීම ලබන අගෝස්තු මස 01 වැනිදා සිට ක්‍රියාත්මක වීමට නියමිතය.

ඒ අනුව, සිය භාරයේ පවතින නිල ලේඛන සහ දේපළ මණ්ඩලය වෙත නිල වශයෙන් භාරදීම සඳහා (30) දිනයේ ඔහු කාර්යාලය වෙත පැමිණීමට නියමිත බව වාර්තා වේ.

පසුගිය 2024 වසරේ දෙසැම්බර් මස 16 වැනිදා රත්න ශ්‍රී විජේසිංහ මහතා මෙම ධුරය සඳහා පත් කරන ලදී. බුද්ධශාසන, ආගමික හා සංස්කෘතික කටයුතු අමාත්‍ය ආචාර්ය හිනිදුම සුනිල් සෙනෙවි මහතා අතින් ඔහු සිය පත්වීම් ලිපිය ලබා ගත්තේය.

ප්‍රකට කිවිවරයෙකු සහ ගේය පද රචකයෙකු වන විජේසිංහ මහතා එම ධුරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වීමට හේතුව මෙතෙක් අනාවරණය වී නොමැත.

Renowned Literary Figure Resigns as Chairman of National Library and Documentation Services Board

Renowned literary scholar Rathna Sri Wijesinghe has stepped down from his position as Chairman of the National Library and Documentation Services Board. His resignation letter has already been submitted to authorities, and the effective date is set for August 1st of this year.

Reports indicate that he is scheduled to officially hand over all relevant documents and assets to the respective authorities on the 30th of this month.

Wijesinghe was appointed to this role on December 16, 2024, receiving his appointment letter from the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senewiratne.

While he is recognized as a prominent poet and lyricist, the reasons behind his resignation have yet to be disclosed.
