අලුත් ගැසට්ටුවක්.. වාහන මිල තවත් ඉහලට...?

 රජය විසින් ඉදිරියේදී නිකුත් කිරීමට නියමිත නව ගැසට් පත්‍රයක් හේතුවෙන් මෙරට වාහන මිල නැවත වරක් විශාල ලෙස ඉහළ යාමේ අවදානමක් පවතින බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා වාහන ආනයනකරුවන්ගේ සංගමය පවසයි.

එම සංගමයේ සභාපති ඉන්දික සම්පත් මෙරංචිගේ මහතා සඳහන් කරන්නේ, දැනට ක්‍රියාත්මක 2016 වාහන තක්සේරු කිරීමේ ගැසට් පත්‍රය සංශෝධනය කිරීමට රජය සූදානම් වන බවයි.

දැනට භාවිත වන ගැසට් පත්‍රය වසර 10ක් පමණ පැරණි එකක් වන අතර, ලෝක රේගු සංවිධානයේ (WCO) සම්මුතීන්ට අනුව වාහන සඳහා අවම මිලක් නියම කිරීමට නොහැකි වීම හේතුවෙන් මෙම නව සංශෝධනය සිදු කිරීමට රජයට සිදුව ඇත.

මේ හරහා වාහනවල වටිනාකම තක්සේරු කරන ක්‍රමවේදය වෙනස් වන අතර, එහි ප්‍රතිඵලයක් ලෙස බදු මුදල් ඉහළ යාමෙන් අලුත් මෙන්ම පාවිච්චි කරන ලද වාහනවල මිල ගණන් ද ඉදිරියේදී සැලකිය යුතු ලෙස ඉහළ යනු ඇතැයි ඒ මහතා පෙන්වා දෙයි.

මේ වන විටත් පනවා ඇති සියයට 150ක අධිභාරය (Surcharge) හේතුවෙන් වෙළෙඳපොළට අලුතින් පැමිණෙන වාහනවල මිල ගණන් ලක්ෂ ගණනින් ඉහළ ගොස් ඇති බව ද සභාපතිවරයා සඳහන් කළේය. 

පවතින තත්ත්වය හමුවේ වාහනයක් මිලදී ගැනීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වන පාරිභෝගිකයන්ට වත්මන් මිල ගණන් යටතේ වාහන මිලදී ගැනීම වඩාත් ලාභදායී වන බව ද මෙරංචිගේ මහතා අවධාරණය කරයි.

දැනට වෙළෙඳපොළේ පවතින බොහෝ වාහන පැරණි මිල ගණන් යටතේ පවතින අතර, ආනයනකරුවන් සිය බැංකු පොලී පියවා ගැනීම සඳහා අවම ලාභයක් තබා ගනිමින් වාහන අලෙවි කරන බැවින් පාරිභෝගිකයන්ට මේ මොහොතේ වැඩි වාසියක් හිමිවන බව ද ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

New Vehicle Price Hike Looms as Government Prepares to Revise Taxation Regulations

The Sri Lanka Automobile Importers Association has issued a warning about a potential significant increase in vehicle prices due to a forthcoming gazette notification from the government. This concern arises from plans to revise the existing vehicle valuation gazette, which has remained unchanged since 2016.

Indika Sampath Meheranage, the president of the association, highlighted that the government is preparing to amend the outdated gazette. He noted that the current document is approximately ten years old and its revision became necessary as vehicles could not be assigned a minimum price in accordance with protocols set by the World Customs Organization (WCO).

This anticipated modification will alter the methodology used for vehicle valuation, likely resulting in higher tax amounts and consequently pushing up prices for both new and used vehicles. Meheranage indicated that consumers should expect a notable increase in vehicle costs as a result.

The president also reported that existing vehicles in the market have already experienced inflated prices, largely due to a 150% surcharge currently imposed on new vehicle imports. This has significantly impacted the pricing of newly arriving vehicles, driving costs into the millions.

In light of the present situation, he emphasized that now is the most advantageous time for consumers looking to purchase vehicles under the current pricing regime. Many vehicles available on the market are still priced according to previous costs, allowing consumers to benefit while dealers are managing minimal profit margins to cover their financing costs.
