අධිකරණවල විනිසුරුවරුන්ගේ විශ්‍රාම වයස වැඩිකිරීමේ තීරණය සම්බන්ධයෙන් ත්‍රෛනිකායික මහානායක හිමිවරුන් විසින් ජනාධිපතිවරයා වෙත යොමු කළ බව කියන ලිපිය පිළිබඳව කරුණු විමසමින් සිවිල් සංවිධාන සහ විවිධ වෘත්තිකයින් පිරිසක් තොරතුරු දැනගැනීමේ අයිතිවාසිකම පිළිබඳ පනත යටතේ ජනාධිපති ලේකම් කාර්යාලය වෙත අයදුම්පත් යොමු කර තිබේ.

විශේෂයෙන්ම 2026 වර්ෂයේදී හෝ ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධන ක්‍රියාවලිය ආරම්භ වූ දින සිට මේ දක්වා මල්වතු, අස්ගිරි, රාමඤ්ඤ සහ අමරපුර මහා නිකායවල මහානායක හිමිවරුන්ගේ අත්සනින් යුතුව විශ්‍රාම වයස සම්බන්ධයෙන් කිසියම් ලිපියක් ලැබී ඇත්නම්, එහි පිටපතක් සහ ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් ජනාධිපතිවරයා ලබාදුන් නියෝග හෝ උපදෙස් පිළිබඳ වාර්තා ද මෙමගින් ඉල්ලා තිබේ.

යම් හෙයකින් එවැනි ලිපියක් ලැබී නොමැති නම්, එය නොලැබුණු බව තහවුරු කරන ලෙස ද එම අයදුම්පත් මගින් වැඩිදුරටත් ඉල්ලා ඇත.

Civil Organizations Seek Clarity on Retirement Age Decision for Judges

A group of civil organizations and various professionals has lodged a request with the Presidential Secretariat for information related to a letter sent by the Chief Prelates of the Sri Lankan Buddhist sects concerning the proposed increase in the retirement age of judges. These inquiries are being made under the Right to Information Act, aiming to clarify several key matters.

Reports suggest that around twenty individuals have collectively sought this information. They are particularly interested in knowing whether the said letter has been received by the Presidential Secretariat, what its registration details are, and what steps have been taken in response to it.

Specifically, the group is seeking copies of any document bearing the signatures of the Chief Prelates of the Malwathu, Asgiriya, Ramanna, and Amarapura Nikayas related to the retirement age issue, especially if such a document has been issued since the start of the constitutional amendment process or in 2026. They also want reports on any directives or guidance provided by the President regarding the matter.

Moreover, they are requesting confirmation that no such letter has been received, should that be the case. This inquiry has gained urgency following recent comments made by the Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thera from the Malwathu chapter, who stated he is unaware of any letter being sent to the President on this issue.
