 පසුගිය රජය සමයේ කොවිඩ් වසංගතයෙන් පීඩාවට පත් ජනතාවට බෙදා දුන් රුපියල් 5000 දීමනාව සඳහා මුදල් සොයා ගත්තේ බියගම මුදල් මුද්‍රණාලයේ මුදල් අච්චු ගැසීමෙන් බව නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය මහින්ද ජයසිංහ මහතා පවසයි.

ජන හමුවකදී අදහස් දක්වමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා මේ බව සඳහන් කළේය. 

වත්මන් රජය බලයට පත්වන විට රට පැවති බංකොලොත් තත්ත්වය සහ වසර දෙකක් වැනි කෙටි කාලයක් තුළ ආර්ථිකය ස්ථාවර කිරීමට ගත් ක්‍රියාමාර්ග පිළිබඳව ඔහු මෙහිදී දීර්ඝ ලෙස කරුණු පැහැදිලි කළේය.

"අපි බලයට එනකොට රට තිබුණේ ණය ගෙවා ගන්න බැරි ඩොලර් නැති, තෙල් ටික ගේන්න බැරි බංකොලොත් තත්ත්වයක. කොවිඩ් කාලේ රුපියල් 5000 බෙදුවේ බියගම ඩිලාරෝ ෆැක්ටරියේ සල්ලි අච්චු ගහලා. ඒත් අපි වසර දෙකක් ඇතුළත ආර්ථිකය නිවැරදිව කළමනාකරණය කළා. ඉතිහාසයේ පළමු වතාවට රුපියල් බිලියන 4900ක ආදායම් ඉලක්කය ඉක්මවා යමින් රුපියල් බිලියන 5200ක ආදායමක් උපයා ගැනීමට අපේ රජය සමත් වුණා," යැයි අමාත්‍යවරයා පැවසීය.

එම ආදායම් ඉලක්ක සපුරා ගැනීම හරහා ජනතාවට සහන රැසක් ලබා දීමට හැකි වූ බව පෙන්වා දුන් මහින්ද ජයසිංහ මහතා, අස්වැසුම ප්‍රතිලාභ ඉහළ නැංවීම, පාසල් දරුවන්ට පොත්පත් මිලදී ගැනීමට රුපියල් 6000ක දීමනාවක් ලබා දීම සහ මහපොළ ඇතුළු ශිෂ්‍යත්ව දීමනා වැඩි කිරීම ඒ අතර ප්‍රධාන වන බව සඳහන් කළේය.

තවද, රාජ්‍ය සේවකයන්ගේ වැටුප් අවස්ථා තුනකදී වැඩි කිරීම සඳහා රුපියල් බිලියන 330ක් වෙන් කළ බවත්, විශ්‍රාමිකයන් සඳහා රුපියල් 3000ක දීමනාවක් සහ වතු සේවක වැටුප් වැඩි කිරීමට රුපියල් මිලියන 5000ක් වෙන් කළ බවත් ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

විපක්ෂය එල්ල කරන විවේචන සහ මඩ ප්‍රචාර තමන් තඹ සතයකටවත් මායිම් නොකරන බව පැවසූ අමාත්‍යවරයා, රජය බලයට පත් කිරීමට කැප වූ ජනතාවගෙන් ලැබෙන ඕනෑම සාධාරණ විවේචනයක් හෝ අඩුපාඩුවක් නිහතමානීව පිළිගෙන ඒවා නිවැරදි කර ගැනීමට රජය සැමවිටම සූදානම් බව ද අවධාරණය කළේය.

Economic Recovery Strategies Highlighted by Deputy Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe

Amid discussions at a public meeting, Deputy Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe revealed that the financial assistance of Rs. 5,000 distributed to the public during the COVID-19 pandemic was sourced from the currency printing press in Biagama.

During his address, Jayasinghe elaborated on the severe economic conditions faced by the country when the current government took office, noting the challenges of repaying debts and securing fuel supplies in a distressed financial environment.

"When we assumed power, the country was in a bankrupt state, unable to pay debts and lacking sufficient dollars. The Rs. 5,000 assistance during the pandemic was financed through currency printing at the Biagama Dollar Factor. However, within just two years, we have managed the economy effectively," he stated. He highlighted that for the first time in history, the government surpassed its revenue target, achieving Rs. 5,200 billion in income against an initial goal of Rs. 4,900 billion.

Jayasinghe emphasized that reaching this revenue milestone enabled the government to provide numerous forms of relief to the public. Key initiatives included increasing agricultural benefits, providing Rs. 6,000 to assist schoolchildren with purchasing school supplies, and enhancing scholarships, particularly in the Mahapola program.

He also disclosed that Rs. 330 billion has been allocated for raising public sector salaries on three occasions, along with a Rs. 3,000 grant for retirees and Rs. 5 million set aside to increase wages for plantation workers.

Addressing criticisms from the opposition, Jayasinghe asserted that they are committed to listening to and addressing any constructive feedback or shortcomings pointed out by the citizens who voted for the government, highlighting their willingness to improve based on fair critiques.
