Notorious Organised Criminal 'Wallawwe Saranga' Arrested in Dubai

Reports confirm that Saranga Pradeep, widely known as 'Wallawwe Saranga,' has been apprehended by police in Dubai. The arrest, which took place recently, was facilitated by information provided by Sri Lanka's Central Criminal Investigation Department and intelligence officials.

Authorities in Dubai conducted the operation based on intelligence gathered regarding Lalith Kannanagara, also known as 'Bus Lalith.' The operation led to his arrest while he was in Dubai, following actionable insights from local officials.

At the time of his arrest, it has been reported that Lalith was found in possession of a substantial quantity of cocaine and crystal methamphetamine, commonly referred to as 'ice.'

However, it appears that Dubai authorities have yet to officially inform local security agencies in Sri Lanka regarding the details of the arrest. This raises questions about communication procedures between the two nations when it comes to significant criminal apprehensions.

In light of this development, Sri Lankan security forces are focusing their attention on the potential next steps for the extradition of the suspect back to Sri Lanka.
