මහ මෝල් හිමියන් කියන දේත් හරි..- වසන්ත

 දිවයිනේ ජනතාව ප්‍රධාන ආහාරය ලෙස සහල් පරිභෝජනය කරන බැවින්, පවතින ඉල්ලුම සපුරාලීම සඳහා සහල් ආනයනය කිරීමට රජය පියවර ගත් බව වෙළඳ, වාණිජ, ආහාර සුරක්ෂිතතා සහ සමුපකාර සංවර්ධන අමාත්‍ය වසන්ත සමරසිංහ මහතා පැවසිය.

ජන හමුවක් අමතමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා මෙම කරුණු අනාවරණය කළේය.

කුඩා මෝල් හිමියන් වෙත උපදෙස් ලබා දෙමින් ඔහු පවසා ඇත්තේ, සහල් මිල අධික ලෙස පහත හෙළීමෙන් තොරව ක්‍රමවත්ව වෙළඳපොළට සහල් නිකුත් කරන ලෙසයි. එසේ නොවුණහොත් ගොවියාට ලැබෙන වී මිල පහත වැටීමේ අවදානමක් පවතින බව ඔහු පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

මහා පරිමාණ මෝල් හිමියන් සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දක්වමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා කියා සිටියේ, ඔවුන් නිරන්තරයෙන් ලාභ ලබන පිරිසක් වුවද,  ඔවුන් බොහෝ දේවල් පැවසූ බවත් ඒවාද හරි වුවත් මෙවර ගොවියාගෙන් වී මිලදී ගැනීමේදී රුපියල් 120ක සහතික මිලක් ලබා දිය යුතු බවත්ය.

මේ සඳහා රජය මැදිහත් වී එක් මෝලක් සඳහා රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 250 බැගින් වූ පොලී රහිත ණය පහසුකම් ලබා දී ඇති බවද ඔහු අනාවරණය කළේය.

වී අලෙවි මණ්ඩලය හරහා වී මිලදී ගැනීමේ කටයුතු විධිමත්ව සිදු කරන බවත්, මහා පරිමාණ මෝල් හිමියන් රුපියල් 120ක මිලට වී මිලදී ගත යුතු බවත් ඔහු අවධාරණය කළේය.

Government Takes Measures to Import Rice Amid High Demand

The Sri Lankan government has taken steps to import rice to meet the high demand, as the population primarily relies on rice as their main food staple. This announcement was made by Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security, and Consumer Affairs, Wasantha Samarasinghe, during a public gathering.

Addressing the audience, the Minister emphasized the importance of releasing rice into the market in a structured manner without significantly lowering prices. He cautioned that such price reductions could jeopardize the income of farmers who depend on stable rice prices.

In comments regarding larger-scale retailers, the Minister acknowledged that while these entities are consistently profitable, they have articulated various concerns. He insisted that, despite any valid points they may have, they must ensure to purchase rice from farmers at a guaranteed price of 120 rupees per kilogram.

To facilitate this, the government has intervened by providing interest-free loan facilities amounting to 250,000 rupees for each retailer. The Minister also confirmed that purchases through the Rice Marketing Board are proceeding systematically, underscoring that major retailers must adhere to the 120 rupee price point when buying rice.
