අගවිනිසුරු සම්බන්ධයෙන් පැමිණිල්ලක්... චෝදනා තුනක්..

අගවිනිසුරු ගරු ප්‍රීති පද්මන් සූරසේන මහතාට අදාලව කරුණු දෙකක් මුල් කරගනිමින් විධිමත් විමර්ශනයක් පවත්වන ලෙස ඉල්ලා පැමිණිල්ලක් ඉදිරිපත් වී ඇති බව වාර්තා වෙයි.

එක්සත් රාජධානිය කේන්ද්‍ර කරගත් 'Fair Comment' නැමති ස්වාධීන ගවේෂණාත්මක මාධ්‍ය ආයතනය විසින් මෙම පැමිණිල්ල ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇති බව එම ආයතනය වාර්තා කරයි.

2023 අංක 9 දරන දූෂණ විරෝධී පනතේ ප්‍රතිපාදන ප්‍රකාරව මෙම විමර්ශනය සිදු කරන ලෙස 'Fair Comment' ආයතනයේ කර්තෘ ජසීම් ජමීල් විසින් ලිඛිත ඉල්ලීමක් කර ඇත.

අදාළ පැමිණිල්ලි  මතු කර ඇති පළමු කරුණ වන්නේ කොළඹ 07, වෝඩ් පෙදෙසේ පිහිටි වටිනා නිවසක් සම්බන්ධයෙන්, වාහන බලපත්‍ර අවභාවිතය සහ වත්කම් ප්‍රකාශ සම්බන්ධයෙනි.

මෙම කරුණු සම්බන්ධයෙන් අගවිනිසුරුවරයාගෙන් කරුණු විමසීමට ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණ රෙජිස්ට්‍රාර්වරයා හරහා උත්සාහ කළද, ඒ සඳහා කිසිදු ප්‍රතිචාරයක් නොලැබුණු බව එම ආයතනය සඳහන් කරයි.

තමන් කිසිවෙකුට වැරදිකරු ලෙස චෝදනා නොකරන නමුත්, ඉහළ අධිකරණය සම්බන්ධයෙන් සමාජ මාධ්‍ය සහ විවිධ වේදිකාවල පැතිර යන තහවුරු නොකළ තොරතුරු හේතුවෙන් අධිකරණ පද්ධතිය කෙරෙහි පවතින මහජන විශ්වාසය පළුදු වෙමින් පවතින බව එම ආයතනය පෙන්වා දෙයි.

Complaint Filed for Inquiry into Chief Justice's Alleged Misconduct

Reports indicate that a formal complaint has been lodged, urging a comprehensive investigation into two specific allegations concerning Chief Justice Pradeep Ramalingam Surasekera.

The complaint was submitted by 'Fair Comment', an independent investigative media organization based in the United Kingdom.

Jaseem Jameel, a representative of 'Fair Comment', has formally requested an inquiry in accordance with provisions outlined in the 2023 Anti-Corruption Act.

The first of the allegations revolves around a valuable property located in Colombo 07 and includes concerns regarding the improper use of vehicle registration and asset declarations.

The organization has reported attempts to obtain clarification from the Chief Justice through the Registrar of the Supreme Court, but these inquiries received no feedback.

While 'Fair Comment' refrains from labeling anyone as guilty, they highlight that unverified information circulating on social media and various platforms poses a threat to public confidence in the judiciary.

As such, they emphasize the necessity of a formal inquiry to unveil the truth, asserting that it is the responsibility of the Commission to conduct such an investigation.
